I've been getting really bored with the Hibs taking a keep and then PBAoE spamming at the Lord. A good tactic and nicely executed but I can't stand seeing the same tactic used everytime a keep is taken so I started to devise ways of countering it.

So today, while sitting in the courtyard of Nottmoor Faste with Hibs camping the Lord and hearing Middie cries of "I'm not going up there" reverberating off of the walls I remembered something; Rune of Decimation! MUHAHAHA!!!11

Realising I wasn't gonna gain any RP from the charge and fully prepared to take the brunt of a chaincasted PBAoE I proceeded to run up the stairs, barely getting to the Lord. I managed to drop my bomb JUST before the PBAoE spam got me.

This will be an ongoing tactic for me and I hope other Runies will do the same. Who knows, three or four Runies running up could clear the Lord of all but the sturdiest of Tanks.

How are you guys gonna defend against it? I don't think you can :D

Buuuhihihi! But you are wrong! Oh, so very, very *cough* very wrong! If you fight with RA's we will be forced to do the same! And it comes with the name Mastery of Concentration. :D

Luuna: MoC don´t help you when you´re dead.

I´ve used that tactic also, but we need to get 3-4runies to kamikaze the lord room and drop their bombs at the same time. KABOOM :)

Yes, I know that, but it works when you're dying, or even being attacked (by one of your silly mines ;)) and being chain healed. :p

surely its even easier than that.

Plant a tree in the courtyard and watch all the Hibbies run to it and dance around it in amazement. Then keel the lord.

Done it once myself you just have to get as close to the evil hibby casters as possible, they you would only need 2 runies :)

Would be nice to set up a runie sucide squad once when the hibbies camp the lord. :)

Hmm.. few NS guarding way up and suicide squad will hit grass :) (or floor). Of course first we need some NS ;)

I've managed to instastun the Hibernians the infamous time they took Nottmoor Faste and held it so bravely (or cheaply, however you deem to view it) a few weeks ago, and could run up to them and took a couple of swings at a caster in safety. Unfortunately there was nobody following me even after I explained such a simple tactic; obviously I wasn't a born leader if noone can even follow me to a success.

This sounds good, though, Dook. It sounds like you're one who appreciates a bit of coordination. Next time the Hibernians want to cause a bit of trouble in one of our keeps, we'll have to hook up, smack an insta-stun into them and get a few other casters as well to blast the night away.

How about 3 Runies hitting for 965 damage at the same time on a single target and everyone else getting the 200-500 damage?

It adds up.

Just need to find a few Runies that aren't RP whores and LANDMINE GO BOOM!

Just incase you haven't noticed, I have an unnerving love for my landmine :D

You'd still get hit. The AE damage from the landmine centres around the person who sets it off, not from where it's dropped. Besides, 5 Runies run up and each drop it (easy to get it off before we die as it can be casted on the run) and your mages will drop. There is no defense. MUHAHA!

Vidx:

Yea most of the Runies I know are just as mad (and in love) with their landmines as much as me.

Landmines are also an excellent defense against stealthers. If I survive a PA I drop landmine, use a staff charge and then QC root, run, bolt/DD, dead :)

Only prob is the 15 minute timer :(

Question is, would this also work in a hib keep..
PBAE through the lord wall and those runies wont even get close to the lordroom entrance.
But it still is a nice idea for Albion/Midgard keeps though.

Well we defended DC yesterday and i saw runies die on the stairs before they got up and there were like 6 of em lol nice tactic haha :D

This sounds like a good way to deal with the lord spam. Shamans can help too; Ichor of the deep is very useful in assaulting the lord room. A few seconds after Dook planted his mine, I came up and finished some of the work he had started. And I got realm points too, mbwahahahahahahha!

i only see 1 PBAE name in that SS... and you guys are talkin about 5-6 runies doin the bomb... iv never seen 5-6 PBAERS defending a keep... relic keeps yes but never normal keeps... if we put 6 PBAE at lord we dont need anyone else there ;)

How about just wait until hib's goes to bed and then retake the keep,no RP's for the poor wating hib's and no frustation ;)

Well one and a bit PB'ers there Zedorf :) Poor little Rhaine's a mana chanter but he was only level 30, not really a threat to the mighty Midgard horde that finally stormed Nottmoor.

We'd only really gone there for a guild outing - we wanted a group photo with our banner flying over a Mid keep in the background. Sticking around and defending for a while for fun was a bonus. Personally, there's not much for me to do in a keep defence until it gets to the lord, although I was having fun with Blackdeath at one of the climbpoints - he'd clamber up, I'd whack him a couple of times, he'd slink off and heal and then the whole cycle would repeat... shame that Azal and Svartalf had actually heard of COOPERATING and COORDINATING their attacks and ruined my fun :(
