Do they orly work?

I believe they're suppose to take a layer of skin off your face, which contains the dirt etc?

Anyone tried one?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Rep for gd, helpful answers.

my mates bought me some clay packs for last christmas.

it does seem both visually and by touch that a layer of skin may well come off.
it definatley feels more sensitive and looks more vibrant.

also feels uber when it tightens up, just dont laugh.

hmmmm.... dont really know how effective they are, but yes they do work! (maybe not after first time but)
stuffzes in the mud stuff gives good stuffs that skin likes, and skin becomes happy! mix mud treatment+washing properly+enough sun for your skin.. will most likely give you a nice result :)

can help in two ways: will help remove it or it will just irritate even more.
for acne i've tried pastes and gels, pills, soaps, scrubs, prolly more things as well.. atleast for me, nothing really took it all away. tho i believe enough vitamins, sunlight and keeping ur face clean helps alot. and ofc, not eating too much chips and such. zink above needed level helps as well methinks.

I had a bit of a fright the other day - I put a face pack on while I was in the bath, left it on for 15 minutes then washed it off. I looked in the mirror straight afterwards, and my face had turned almost fluorescent pink - I absolutely shat myself! As usual, I hadn't bothered to do a skin test or anything, and I thought I'd had an allergic reaction to it. As it happens, it was a heat releasing face pack, and my face was just red from the heat of it (although was weird because it didn't feel hot) and it went down in an hour or so, but it scared me at first!

Only ugly people use those sort of cosmetics :/ Aside from that, if you have to change the way you look because you cannot get friends/cannot socialise (why else would you?) then imo you are very sad.

I guess maybe like me you have moderately greasy skin, Lamp ? Don't have much acne problem any more, so facial scrubs not needed. Don't have dry skin, so moisturisers not needed.

If you did have skin issues, I'd hope you would do something about it!

Incidentally, a bit of a fact finding mission...

My skin was pretty much flawless other than a few blackheads and very rare whitehead until I was 20. Then I started getting bad spots, and have had them ever since. They're fairly sporadic, but when I get one, I usually get a few, but I've never met anyone else that had good skin while being a teenager, then crappy skin.

Having said that though, my body seemed to go into self destruct mode when I was about 20, and I developed more severe asthma and allergies, eczema (that I'd never had before) and interstitial cystitis (also never had before) so maybe my poor skin was linked to that...

Doesn't diet make a difference to your skin ?

If you eat loads of fried crap, sugary sweet junk, and stuff full of E-numbers, doesn't it make your skin greasy and prone to blackheads ?

On the otherhand, if you eat healthily, loads of fresh fruit and veg, drink plenty of water, do some exercise, and get some sunshine, you get healthier looking skin ?

I'm no expert, but eating healthy stuff has got to be beneficial, right ?

Yup. It does.

I was just on a 7 day holiday involving cooked breafast every day, grilled and fried food, pizza etc. and I ended up with a handful of spots on my face.

yes clay/mud masks work etc. it depends what your skin is like for which you should use. with combination skin (ie: most mens skin, oily on nose / forhead but normal everywhere else) you could use a a clay mask and then follow with moisturiser so you dont overdry your skin. i wouldnt be surprised after using a clay mask to get few spots pop up as they draw the crap out of your skin.

Razor? Deodorant? Toothbrush? :eek7:

Use the kitchen scissors for your beard trimming, smell natural and let out some beneficial feromones and just brush your teeth with your finger.

Pansy.

Yeah, 'cause it's a WOMANS magazine, the reason for spots are:

A: Men.
B: Stress.
C: Men.
D: Too little cuddletime.
E: Men.

in women hormones play a major factor too. time of the month, as well as getting incredibly stressy they can have major breakouts.
also, men get oilier skin because of high testosterone and thus get spots & blackheads when pores get clogged.

unhealthy food leads to oily skin not necessarily spots

Its not cos you have perfect skin that you shouldnt take care of it.

Bugz have you tried the men's line from Nivea?

The mudpacks do work, but dont use it a lot cos its not all that good for you skin then.

I currently use Nivea for Men Face Wash. It is effective but I still feel that I have quite oily and blemishy skin.

Not to mention its expensive stuff :p
