Help Msn be broked

Not sure whats happened here.

Had a powercut yesterday and my old man said it fuxed the router back to factory settings.

Try to sign on what i presume is the latest version, get an error saying the default gateway is offline.

What needs to be done to solve it? I've tried the troubleshoot thingy on msn and rebooting etc etc, but it doesn't seem to want to work

Check that MSN does not have a default gateway set as if the router reset maybe the IP Address are different and it has your old gateway set.

Any idea where this is?

I've gone Tools > Options > Connection > Advanced settings and theres nothing about a gateway

Sounds to me like MSN Messenger Virus BR2002

Uninstall and reinstall run a virus check inbetween

turn off the machine and router for 10 minutes then restart the router first, wait a minute and then the machine.

make sure when you turn everything off, the power is off on the mains power plug

The exact same thing happened to another computer in the house at the same time, i doubt it's a virus TBH.

Go to Tools - Options - Connections - Advanced Settings and click Test under TCP see what error comes up. I think the Gateway is pulled from your Internet Explorer Gateway.

Strange, when i run the test it says i can connect to msn messenger, yet when i try to sign in i can't.

Remove your proxy in IE if you have one and try again.

No proxy set, i'll sack this off until i can reset the router
