Any way to automatically set MSN to online when I return from a full screen game?

MSN6/6.1 should automatically go to 'busy' when you go into a game and return to 'online' when you're back at the desktop. If you change your status manually, it won't.

My MSN 6.1 will change back to Online if I set it manually and come back after a while, I'm not sure whether this is annoying or not.

Certainly letting MSN automatically put you into "away" during a full screen game will revert right back when you exit.

What I'd really like is for it to detect I'm away, which it does, but then when I return and move the mouse/tap a key, for it to switch back to online, which it doesn't

:(

Mine does. Honestly Tom, no insult intended but I can't see what your problem is you must be setting it up wrong PEBKAC etc.

Gotta go with Xaney on this one Tom.

Tools -> Options -> Personal -> Show me away when...

The trick to all this is that it will not undo a mode unless it has set it. So if you set yourself to "On the phone" you have to take it off as MSN will only remove an Away and only when it has set it due to inactivity.

I don't think this is quite true, as I have often set myself the "Appear Offline", but should the PC go into standby or something, when it reawakes I go back to being "Online" again.

I have yet to work out what makes it change back.

Afaik that's due to the fact that if the PC suspends it doesn't stay connected to the net. If you've got automatic sign in enabled, when the PC awakes messenger signs in & when it does that you're automatically set to online.
