I bought a Creative Zen Micro in March of this year and recently it's gone down faster than a granny on a frosty morning :p. Theres no way i'm getting the same model after a couple of mates have had the exact same problem.

Therefore!

I'm looking for some advice on what to go for. I'm looking to;

Spend no more than £200.
Not have an Ipod
Not have a Creative Zen Micro (Although the brand itself is fine :p)
Have around 5gb or so storage space

If anyone's got any suggestions it'd be appreciated :D

i got a Rio Carbon about 2 weeks ago, its pretty neat (5GB one), only had one problem with it and its a relatively minor one (windows XP doesnt pick it up on my USB on the front of PC only on the back, so had to unplug my webcam! ;) )

its not too heavily priced either:

price grabber

the only downside being when you have 800 tracks on it, by 200 different artists it can take a while to scroll through them all (but ive just got it on play all and shuffle now anyway :D )

never had any others but i can definetly recommend this one (its so small too, fits neatly in my pocket with my keys :p )

oh and one more thing, it has 20 hour battery that recharges nice and fast! (reviews here: clicky )

iriver fan myself.

I ahve a nice colour screen 20gb one, plugs into mains to recharge (which it does quickly) no software needed. hello anything i want on college computers :D

Only thing is it runs out of power in a mere several hours but i only really listen to it walking to and from school or dogwalks. Easy to just plug it in for a little while to charge anyway. Bit chunky too, but i know some chunky people irl and they get on with life fine. No reason why an mp3 player can't.

Iriver all the way - been nothing but impressed with the quality of the ones i have had.

iAudio M3L
24hours continues playtime on 1 batteryload with backlight on.
Sublime audioquality.
Supports Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MP3.
Built-in Radio, Voicerecorder directly to mp3.
20GB
And lotsa more functions

The iAudio M3 is thesame as the M3L, except the M3 has a bit less powerfull battery.

No idea what the Euro-Pound rate is, but I paid €320 at MediaMarkt for the M3L a while ago. probably can get 'em cheaper now.

Just buy a 6230i on contract and stick a 2GB card in it, you get random play, equalizer AND it's a phone with a 1.3 mp camera, it will recieve calls and resume after you finish automatically, if you are desperate there are 4GB cards out soon, probably around 150 quid, but you'll get the phone for free.
