Call me picky, but i just block ad serving domains and use the click flash to play plugin, to watch the funny anims and etc. Nice control imho.
And I'll agree with babs on this: Firefox is a perfectly capable browser without the plugins, far more useful in vanilla mode than IE (imho). The way plugins are made for Firefox is what makes it the best. It's as bloated as you want it to be.
