moving .jpgs?

anyone know if it is possible to have moving .jpgs like gifs?

No, I don't believe it's possible. If it's for a website, you could use a movie, Flash, Javascript etc. to sequence individual images and create the illusion of movement, but it's not possible to have just one file like an animated GIF.

P.S. Some programs will convert JPGs to an animated GIF. Of course GIF images are limited to 256 colours, but sometimes the end result can be acceptable (depending on the type of images you're trying to convert).

There is an MJPG format, however everything that can display a JPG won't automagically display an MJPG
