Mouse surfaces... Are they worth?

I'm thinking in buying a Ratpadz mousing surface. I have a MS Explorer (optical)... the poor guy can't "read" the table top. So, instead of shooting a bastard, I'm shooting the sky. Can't use my normal mouse pad, too. Think I'm gonna order one. 3dcool.com is selling them for $13, plus $8 for shipping.

My m8s told me about 3M having a gaming mouse pad too.

Anyone has/wants/thinks in buying one?

thanks m8, but the pound is way too "expensive" for us (I'm from Portugal). It's better and much cheaper to order it from the US. It will take 10 days to get here. Thanks anyway... Do you have any kind of this pads(ratpadz/3M/Everglide)?

I haven't got one personally but everyone I know with one loves them to bits, the everglide and ratpads are the best though by a long way

Call me skank, but i prefer to cut up old binder folders and use the backs. The one im using now is nicely padded and is WONDERFUL, better then the ratpads, everglides and 3m imo (ive tried them all)

I've tried a lot of mouse surfaces over the years and always resorted back to my Allsop (£5). I recently bought an MS Intelli and I began to use it on my Everglide (£20). The silver teflon pads underneath began to wear off at a rapid rate tbh, I was pretty horrified. I guess at the end of the day it's personal preferance, however saying that I did find the Everglide easy to work with, my aim became more precise. I've not tried the Razor mice range yet tho. Again not for everyone. Best thing is to try a few until you find what's right for you.

i'm using a crappy red alert mouse pad i got ages ago
and it's bad fer my intellimouse
the teflon pads get very dirty
have to clean them constantly
i'm suprised athies pads were wearing off
guess i'll have to take that into account when i get a new mousepaad

Got an allsop mat, one that looks like it's covered with droplets of water... had an MS explorer for about 6 months, it's still spotless...

I think the reason that ya mouse has had the bottom sandpapered off is cos it's covered with crap, clear the crumbs off and it will work much better!

well, somthin is wrong, either the mouse or the mat, the mice are pretty sturdy, jeez, i've used a copy of fhm for a month or two at a go, the point of the ms explorer is that it's a low-maintenance mouse

it ain't rocket scientry!

If u would read the ms explorer manual, u would find out that it doesn't need a mouse pad...the reason? because, it can't "read" it.

I did, for months and months on end, when I got bored of killing dumbasses who just wanted to run around as per the stereotypical headless chicken I went back to the best known mod for one of the best games written, hence playin Counterstrike...

wweee.... Got mine Ratpadz today. Took 5 days to get from US to Portugal (we had a national holiday and a weekend between). Cost me USD $21.(pad $13 and p+p $8, cheapest in the world). Tested it with my optical... that "crap" owns! Smooth, precise, accurate.. everything a FPS gamer wants

i have a razor 2k and am fed up with this 3M pad, and i figure cos i cant get a logitech wingman pad id try either the everglide or a ratpad. if any of u have any experiences using both pads could you post what u think.

sorry m8. I have only experience in my desk and the Ratpadz... So, you won't have the full picture

Still, I think that Everglide and Ratpadz are basically the *same* material. But the Ratpadz has the advantage of being bigger and the shape of it (nice to save your wrist)

It's not very difficult to find out tests Everglide vs Ratpadz vs 3M. The result is *always* the same, with Ratpdaz being chosen as best buy.
