Motherboard problems

just bought a new mobo for my bros comp and now protesessor isnt working, at all
wtf it is P4 1.7ghz and the old mobo is a very old one whit a 4x AGP and shit.
is there eny limitation for like FSB or somthing that prevents the cpu not working.

i know its cpu couse when u start it wount to eny sound or loading it just shows a black screen.

HELP???

im going to buy a new cpu in few months but my bro would like tu use hes new ati radeon 9600xt gfx and he bought cata too soo i cant but back the old mobo.

so if enyone knows a solution for this prob please post!!!

It would help a great deal if you actually said what mobo's you had and are now using :rolleyes:

I think memory is another cause of blank screen, not totaly sure tho, so don't rule out other problems so earily. :)

Check the motherboard's manual or check the specs from the web to see if it supports the proccoesser. :)
