LOTR rules, And all thoses people who say that too much was missed out should just keep it to themselves, if they had decided to include EVERYTHING "the fellowship of the rings" would have taken up 3 films by itself any way.

I reckon they missed to much out of Harry Potter, I loved the books but the film took the sandwich of the book and removed the filling leaving nothing but the main plot :/

Yeah. And they totally ripped out the eccentricity and quirkiness of Dumbledore.

Lord of the Rings was shite, what was good about it? People are already hailing it as the best movie ever. It doesn't add anything new whatsoever.

Robbie Coltrane was brilliant in Harry Potter, and it's good only for that reason

LOTR is so much better than Harry Potter....

but then thats my opinion

either way I liked LOTR compared with Potter.....

LOTR was still disapointing for me compared with the book as it missed bits and such, but i still feel its better than harry :D

The bits they missed from the book are the bits where it takes like 30 odd years at the start to find out what the ring actually does and other assorted bits and bobs.

They missed out the bit about them meeting Elves after they first left Hobbiton and the growing menace of the Black Riders is not as played upon as much as it is in the book. However the menace of the ring itself, and Saruman's little games in Isengard more than make up for this. Bombadildo has been cut altogether, thank god, and overall I believe that this attempt to bring the greatest work of fiction ever written (barring the Bible of course ;)) to the screen is probably as accurate as you will ever get without going over the magic 3 hour mark.

YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS IN A COMFY CINEMA, as I found out to my cost.

The last time I felt like this after seeing a film was when I saw Empire Strikes Back, and LotR is better.

Throd: you're scaring me because you have a point :D
