well i believe its a weakness not to be able to solo with stealth

even mythic believes they are not powerfull thats why they get Camouflage.

at 1.52 we will see! for now.. i would choise an infiltrator

u dont make a weak pve class to be a medium rvr class rite?

i never thought rvr was supposed to be solo.. thats why its REALM vs REALM apposed to player vs player if u want solo fights could try UO and there stealth isnt see thru at all :p but its also less useful lol i dont like solo rvr tbh no fun prefer going in 1fg ish fighting groups of similar sizes zergs are boring tho lol

You gotta be kidding me putting an enchanter as the best PvP class. They're nice and secure money making machines, but for general PvP they aren't much better than your local Spiritmaster, IMO.

Generally in RvR, most powerfull doesn't really go anymore. I'd go for a "most wanted" class so you can stack up in a group and score some rp. As for which, a class with speed or a class with crowd control should be pretty high on the list.

For PvP I'd pick either a stealth class or a speed class. If by PvP you mean running around alone and perhaps RPK'ing. Speed classes like the skald has the ability to both mezz and snare his opponent and run away if the battle isn't going your way, whereas the stealther has the ability to sneak around, picking your targets. Generally an assassin stealther would be preferable as bow'ers and minstrels can't hide as well as them.

I have a lv40+ inf and sorcerer. When it comes to solo'ing PvE, I'd rather use my Sorc, no question about it.

Infs are not good PvE solo'ers. You need to find non-agro mobs, preferaby resistant to your attack with a penalty against leather and in good supply. How often do you come across a camp like that?

With a sorc, find a mob, pump some nukes and send in your pet. If you get adds, mezz and laugh wickedly.

In an RvR 'dual' situation, straight up combat, no messing around. A Sorcerer with Medial Telamon has a damn good chance to defeat anyone.

(Most Hibs/Mids probably haven't seen Medial Telamons. But they're giants, dressed in black with a mean 2h sword.)

You Forgot one thing about the Infiltrator,

He's not that great, with out buffs,

Unless you have a buff-bot, don't expect to solo every classes 1v1,

And whether the player is awake or not...

/em runs solo in Emain
/em spots a Troll with a blue cloak zipping towards him
/em stuns Kephan
/em heat debuffs Kephan
/em stands there in a daze wondering what his walls would look like in a bright yellow colour
/em gets bashed by Kephan after the stun wears off

D'oh!

 oh yes we suck so hard and can't kill a thing without buffs, been soloing every class and many out there.. hardest class for me to kill was druid, with their stupid pet and their instas, but of course if I use IP, or vanish -> PA he's dead.

Hmm. smite clerics pre ra's pwned. mez, stun, 3 smites (with decent dex modifiers), pbaoe.. if they're not dead then just hit em

This is talking 1v1 btw, but clerics atm are imo teh most versatile. Think the only things i can't solo atm are people with naff ra's like purge and IP :m00:

(and azal generally)

Yes, you almost can kill every foes out there - except he/she begins with a mezz, stun, has some insta effect or a pet + longer range... Btw with lvl-based smite you can cast 4 or 5 smites sometimes. After mezz nerf our chances will be reducing...

1 v 1 versus another tank class with a similar amaount of RA's as I have I'd give anyone a run for there money with my lvl 50 Friar. Except a champion (damn debuffs hehe)

However tanks never run round alone (nor do we Friars if we can help it) so is pointless thinking about it really.

There really aren't "tough" characters in RvR just a well balanced group reacting quickly and correctly to another group holds the key to most battles.

This game really doesn't take much skill imho compared to most games. Your time input of time spent playing is more or less directly rewarded with skills, items and abilities. If I sit down to play a new FPS I will be better at them than most players straight off the block as I am generally good at them. This persons hours and hours of play (even days) often counts for nothing if they have little aptitude for a game. How many level 50s have a /played time of say 60 days plus? Not very many. Some people ARE better in RvR than others as they don't lose their cool in a fight or know and use the character well. However they will be fortunate get even 25% more rps from any encounter than an average player. I like this game for this reason and by the same token dislike it. DaoC does reward players who play for a long time but not often those who play well...

I'll prolly get flamed for this post but, Hey, I cant help the way I feel (to quote Morrissey :)

Hm. FWIW, I think minstrels could do quite well in duels.

Even my gimpy self could probably take any caster out 1-on-1, and any tank ... if I got to choose the location and set things up right. Obviously realm abilities and/or especially clever playing will affect this. If I were to agree a duel without armour/jewellry and with no active RAs, I'd expect to do a lot better & it will be interesting to test this when duelling is possible (which I am sure will show how with the RAs and resists in particular, minstrels are a lot less tough than they used to be).

Doubt I'd be able to take out a healer type who knew what they were doing (although I have killed druids who clearly didn't ;) But I have sworn off that, because I feel sorry for the poor tree spirit thingies.)

(In practice, I am a grouping minstrel and I like skirmishing with groups so that's what I do. Minstrels ARE uber when it comes to enhancing the RvR performance of any group we are with.)

Ragnorak, do you know anything about the PvP server? The most played class there is enchanter... and think about it, a sorcerer needs to find a pet, an enchanter can just summon one.
