Wish i had taken a picture from when i was around 8 when i was playing on a really old wagon, the wood looked ok on the surface but turned out to be rotten all the way thru, i fell thru and both legs all the way from the feet up where covered with splinters, and to this day i still keep getting theese old splinters kreeping up under my nails. My doctor was fascinated when i showed him a two comming up under my thumb nail, he even sent them off to the lab and got back that it was incapsulated wood splinters.

Wonder how long stuff can migrate thru your body :) And the funny thing is its only my left hand thumb nail they show up under.

I remember i was having a piggy back on a bike once when i was young without any shoes on. As we skidded a bit, I put my foot down and well, the chain and pedals ripped all of my skin off - not nice.

I had a lumber puncture and was profusely sweating whilst the needle hit nerves in my spine thus making my legs shake lol. Almost kicked the doctor.

Oh yeah, they had to do it twice because the first one did not go deep enough.

oh go on Seel, make your joke!

What? I feel your pain as they had to do it twice. Not a nice at all procedure. It's simply cruel that you had to be poked so many times.

I feel your pain too. When they had to remove the titanium bars from my broken leg they asked me if I wanted a full or local anaesthesia, and like a fool I said local. Then they asked me if I was ok with a doctor in training giving me the shot, and like an even bigger fool I said: sure thing yo, let's get it on!* Nothing against people in training, but never again will I allow someone to stick a needle in my frigging spine without being fully qualified. Especially since the guy messed up the first couple of tries and had to get another doc in. When docs and nurses around you suddenly stop talking and start moving about twice as fast it's very worrisome tbh. I wonder if they know that :/

Trainee doctors should practice on each other before they're let loose on real patients.

Apart from football fans, people with Birmingham accents, celebrities, & chavs. Then they have a free reign to do as they wish.

My mothers house, when she moved in last year. The house was brand new, just recently finished, and we were moving in the furniture. I got the dressers and drawers into the spare bedroom, and went over to the window to open it.

I didn't see the loose nail sticking out of the floor, and the resulting 2 hours getting a series of shots in my arse at the hospital was not fun. Neither was the stinging sensation in my foot that kept me limping for days.

On the plus side, my foot didn't turn a funny shade of purple.

when i was a little at school we had a sort of park playground area with monkey bars and i came at them running, jumped to get some inertia boost to do the course faster and a bit of the wood on the bar snagged my left palm and basically ripped it about 3/4 down my hand and was just flapping there blood everywhere...had it bandaged for weeks until the skin underneath grew back.

also similar incident when i was about 14 on a skooter on my paperround except was my knee cap:p however i did finish my paperround before i went to get patched up lol had to go to the doctors and get all the grit taken out with tweezers and alcohol shoved on it and bandaged up for weeks again. needed new trainers and trousers after :p that mess wasnt coming out.

also stepped on a plank of wood with a nail sticking out of it which went about two inches into my foot and had to get that pulled out

I have lumbar punctures done every 2 - 3 months and they arent too bad unless they hit a nerve then it can be a bitch. I still get a bit tense before they do it cos the idea that they are putting a needle into your spine kinda puts me on edge. :/
The procedure of taking specimens from your pelvic bone hurts tons more than teh nerve in the spine thing tho cos they have to force this small screwdriver sized tool through the bone :( had that done a few times, got another one due in a month or two. Now I always have it done with some sedation. Apparently i still feel it and moan like a bitch but i just dont remember it :)
The ingrowing toenail thing can be quite painfull too. Had all my finger nails and toe nails fall off 2-3 times in the last 2 years too was very uncomfortable when trying to post on FH. [guess i should stop typing with my toes;)]
I have broken my arm and leg but i dont remember that as being really painfull just throbbed a bit. I had a collapsed lung about 5 years ago that really hurt especially as they wouldnt give me any painkillers untill they had diagnosed teh cause of it, which took 3 days :(

I had a tube stitched in but hanging outa my chest after another lung type operation to drain off blood and it was time to take it out, "no anaesthetic its a simple procedure". When the nurse grabbed the tube and gave it a sharp tug to get it out it was VERY painful just after she did it she sad something along the lines of "shit, get the doctor" at this point i knew we had a little problem. :/ apparently the stitching had been ripped out and I had a hole in the side of my chest ribs exposed etc:eek7:. The doctor came along fairly quickly and saw that he need to stitch it back up again and he said just before he started " now this IS gonna hurt"

He was right :(

It's not really an "accident" per se, but I had to have...erm...Minor Surgery a couple of years ago (related to my diabetes of all things, long story). It wasn't especially painful, but it didn't look good, the stitches looked like something from my Art and Textiles GCSE classes! Not only that, I had to be very careful not to get...erm...excited because it pulled the stitches tight...which wasn't fun!!

2/10 - Not recommended

EDIT: Actually, now I come to think of it I came off my BMX (lol) on a gravel path and landed hands first. Scooped out the flesh from both my palms and packed the holes with gravel, broken glass and mud. That wasn't nice. Washed out with antiseptic and a scrubbing brush (no anesthetic!) by a doctor (and three nurses holding me down) and then 3 months in bandages. That also sucked!

3/10 - Also not recommended

I came in from a night out pissed out of my mind once and thought "hmm, i'll have a dump before bed".

Can you see where this is going?

Well then you'd be right because I woke up the next day and found i'd completely missed the toilet.

That's it I guess. :p
