most effective stealther

bored and want to make another random thread so here goes... also i never did a poll so i hope it works, just wonderin wat people think as the best stealther in bg.. wat is most effective... i read a post in RvR discussions a few mins ago and it made me think... which is the best at lvl24 ?

Ok, now for real: Infiltrators, reason: they hurt like **** on my hiblet caster
but on the other hand, Nightshade are stlong because of their insta.

I voted for Infiltrator mainly due the fact they can have high cs/(slashs or thrust)/stealth and still reasonable envenom, while NS/SBs have to sacrifice their melee capability in order to dish out some nice damage/debuffs with envenom.

None the less I still think you can't compare the archers with the assasins as they are way different when playing one. I for one think that a melee scout could tear apart a SB/NS, though will loose against them when they get in their perforate artery.

I'd say the best way to do this poll is to devide them in two, leaving the mincer alone as it's not really played as a stealther in thidranki. Assasins and Archers.

Top three assasins; Infiltrator - Nightshade - Shadowblade
Top three archers; Scout - Ranger - Hunter

Again, remember that it all comes down to what kind of enemy you are fighting! A SB that is facing a class with lots of evade/blocks/parries god knows what more will mostlikely eat dirt due using a two-hander, while he would one shot any caster he meets.

If it is stealther vs stealther it is Inf > sb > ns in thid IMO

Depends who is playing who. I ain't lost to an unbuffed ns or inf for 2 years or so . Only one I ain't dropped lately was Grammaton in buffed TOA form. In unbuffed form he went a few times. In one fight recently (fully buffed) he evaded my last 2 handed attack or he would have died along with all the rest.

2x spec points really helps the potential spec choices you can make.

more weap spec CS and still mentain decent envenom as above poster stated.

also a cleric has base and spec AF so that edges in their favour. really makes them harder to wear down

its 2.5 spec points actually and SB, NS has 2.2 spec points. druids have haste and shamans have end reg(i know theres range on end reg) instead of spec shield. i would rather have haste or end on my bot tbh

erm mate, u can only get aug str2 but k, ya shademasters r fairly leet in thid with the ice storm stun, and high melee spec gif the good damage but imo, SB`s are best for raw damage, i used to be able to 3 hit most light tanks with high axe but opted for higher env to be able to take on the good ones aswell

Well as stated infils have slightly more spec points to ass about with so overal theyre probably the most effective although it comes down to the points stated.

Infils - have more tools to play about with effectivly in thier Spec and Average all round stats. Infils r pretty rounded and have no special features but no real disadvantages either

Nightshades - Evade a lot more than the other 2 and have the added bonus of the spells, which while not exactly powerful can help to stop spd classes running off, or interupt casters etc and add that little boost of dmg after a PA, but the offset being both hib NS races have god awful Hitpoints and suffer for this when hit.

Shadowblades - Well SB have a few disadvantages as we all know, being STR based on all weapons they suffer at the hands of debuffs more than the other 2 <Poisen Debuffs that is>. Also shadowblades being str based, have a payoff with each race. Norse harder dmg less evade, kobbie more evade lesser dmg, valk faster but also shite hp. Mids do have the advantage of using 2handers though. And yes Mourinrage feckin hurts trust me lol.

As for Scouts Rangers and Hunters id have to say Rangers are better than the other 2 for thier melee abilites with Dual weild, the extra dmg from Alb scout bows isnt that apparent in Thid and theres not enuf spec points to spec stealth shiled and thrust/slash well enuf on top of bow. Ive seen Hunters hit hard with spears but they also have the shortest range albiet fastest bows in thid <no quickshot till later remember>. The pets nice but ofc if its up it gives u away and it can also break snares ect on your opponent if u dontwatch its agro status.

And yeah as for Mincers , only mad people bother with stealth on a mince in bg1 unless its a grp setup for stealth traps

Thats my oppinion having played all 3 realms, i may be wrong on a few points but thats just my experience.

The thread is about the most effective stealther by class and the pros and con of that class from what i see.

thats wat was intended luki but hes just pissed cause i killed him last night.....did`nt want to add, just to kill u, after u added on me back on AB against that vamp but and btw i have changed temp... less rogs more crafted..

and miek i only remember fightin u 3 times, all 3 i lost and tbh i have no shame in saying this because u are very good player and ur damage output is very good, 1st time (which i pressume is one on vid) wen i was newer to class, think i was 23 and u seen me through my shitty stealth, i PA`ed for like 20 damage or summa? were u engaging ?

2nd was the time in Hibland, i had just killed a NS and was about to go vamp wen u came runnin over hills, i re-stealthed... u killed vamp(i think it was a vamp ne way?) after u killed it i got the Bs off and we were bout at 5% health wen u used a pot(annoyed i didnt think off it 1st ),

3rd was last nite, trying out new env spec, after our fite last nite i am pretty sure im gonna respec asap... u were still on very high HP so mebbe thats the one u were on about? either way mate, just got some SC done and hope fully ill see u out soon
