Just a varient on the boring class theme post....

I'd say hunter (or any archer classes) cause they are hard as hell to level and have little defensive capabilities.

Also cos im biased ;)

Bard.

Yea', sticking and playing speedsong isn't hard, but playing it right is hard. Mez on time, lul casters, mez some more, twist. etc :p

j00 momma!

I'd say a healer in a group as the single seer. Man, multi-tasking ... In general I think support classes are the ones that require most practice to really master.

I would say healers have it the hardest in Mid.

Main CC, main heal, buffs, ressing, res/buff spam etc...

in rvr...
1. Necromancer: being the most bugged character in the game, by a long way.
2. Minstrel / bard: requires more qbars than is healthy, to be played right
3. Animist: also bugged to hell, but still usable and effective

NS only have 2 style lines on their QB's no? SB have 3. I had 3 full qb's with just styles on on my sb. And another 1-2 more with a mix of styles/weapon changes etc which I used all regularly.

The easiest classes for me (of the ones I know) are Merc, Skald and Hero.

Reaver and H2H Savage are both very challenging. Both require the juggling of multiple qb's in a fight to get the most out of a class and require constant situational awareness to use the right tools at the right time.

Of those I haven't played I would reckon Minstrel would be the most difficult. Like Reaver and Savage they have a complex setup and when you then have to swap instruments to perform a number of different roles I reckon a good mincer = a very good player.

No way in hell ranger is easier to play than chanter :p

I'd say out of my chars ranger is hardest to play, purely due to the massive amount of see hidden infs/sbs about that travel in packs of at very minimum 2 if SBs, 4 if Infs. Scouts and Minstrels get things MUCH easier due to the massive amounts of Infils floating around to save their arse if they do screw up. Hunters get it harder though I'd say because the SB population seems to have dropped a fair amount and will have even more so in 1.62.

Chanter is not only easier in groups, but easier solo due to speed and stun.

Animist is quite a tough one to play and definetely VERY hard to master.

I'd guess bard is very hard to play, no defence, can't even use end regen to sprint away now, appalling interface for handling instruments, only one form of CC, always first target.

Tanks definetely aren't harder to play than rangers, rangers have to do everything tanks do and more, again, same with hunters, scouts have about the same to do as tanks.

Again tho I think it all comes down to play your class well, sure some may see ranger as just shooting a bow, but for example I see it as which bow? The target is escaping on 10% hp, do I use short recurve to whip a shot off fast and risk being out of range or do I switch to regular recurve for the extra range and risk him getting stealthing before I get the shot off? I use the short recurve because I'm elevated and have extra range due to that anyway. I never walk round with my 5.5spd bow in the bow slot in case an assassin attacks me and tries to kite, due to interrupts a 5.5 spd bow wont get the shot off before he restealths but a 4.0spd will - all that's just to do with bow line as well, let alone the melee aspect and pathfinding buffs (Where to buff, when to buff, when to use speed shout etc.).

Easiest class I've played is hands down my bonedancer alt on Excal, you can't lose really, even if pets die and you can't afford armour the lifetap is enough to keep you alive vs an orange con mob that's meleeing you. You just can't lose if you play a BD unless you have vastly superior numbers on you.

how you can put wizard/theurgist and runemaster above druid+cleric is, being a RR8 druid yourself, odd

wizard does little more apart from use nuke + maybe root, then run around when getting hit

i think you know yourself druids role is far more vital + tricky to execute than spamming a nuke button on a target.

omg

<tries really hard not to start whining about how fecking overpowered BD's are>

I agree archer classes (scout in my case) are difficult to level ... but they are in no way hard to play ... I have 1 Quickbar and just have volley on my second... wouldn't know what to put on it after that... we have no weapon/instrument swapping ... all we have to do is take max range and pray critshot doesn't miss again.

Spamming the DD isn't hard. Staying alive after it, however, is :p

Comparing bards and healers, afaik bards need to twist power regen and end regen, and also they need to not get hit cause then chants will break. Is this what makes them harder than a pac/mend healer?

I am curious.

Spamming instant lul must certainly be easier than alternating castable lul and instant debuf for interrupt. Let alone that bards only have one cc type and can thus focus more on other things after first mez.

Enlighten me.

yea but u cant tell me spamming DDs + running around in circles or running into a tanks guard is more taxing than playing say, a druid or cleric, who have to run around in circles or run into a tanks guard range with agro just as much as casters but are expected to keep the group alive at the same time

i feel sorry for pac/mend healers, who have to do all that a cleric+druid do, but CC for the group as well

Paladin :)

damn to the one who says a chanter is harder than a paladin
paladin has to keep twisting during the fight to provide everybody with end, has to slam people who go for support, has to co-op with the main tanks and has to rezz during the fight

and a chanter does debuff, stun, nuke or just pbaoe

You can make all classes easy or as hard as you want. A wizard can only nuke but he can also be backup CC with (AoE)-root if the mezz gets purged by some guys. Theurgist has the same job as well interrupting support-classes, nuking, backup CC.

Friar isn't easy. You need to balance healing with tanking. It's not /stick spam boon for teh win!

Druid: Healing, but also backup CC with baseline root for the purging tanks.

If you wanna do it good all classes take some time to master imo

Scouts only have two bow types and their 16.5 is a max range bow anyway, rangers have 3 bows - hard hitting shorter range, long range medium damage medium speed, fast firing shorter range lower damage. Not to mention most us rangers have our blades/peirce and celtic dual lines quite high so a fair few selections of melee styles to use. I have 3 quickbars on Xest - melee, bow, buffs/ras. As a ranger you're only reaching a quarter your true potential if you just use bow and even less if you only use one bow.

Almost forgot too, arrow switching, we have to use the right arrow type on the right target and hence, must know our targets well.
