Hmmto analyse that ....w00t

No bunny hopping, HA, what a shame all you lamers who need to d/l a script or spend hours practising so u can beat everyone else to a point in the map. Going to ahve to play on a level ground now :)

Radio commands thing will be cool.

hitboxes finally fixed as well, n1.

I like how you will be able to hear radio commands sent by nearby enemies. Good idea
Not sure how much that is going to help a player. Could give camping positions away if an enemy calls for backup or reports he is in position.

What was the nightvision bug?? I think in all the time i have been playing counterstike i must have used nightvision less than a dozen times. Do ppl actually use it?

This game just doesn't fail to impress me again & again. Its no wonder millions of people out there play it - it has to be that many.

Next thing we know we'll be having transfer fees for players.... if that doesn't already happen somewhere.

Heh, me first plz... first one to come up with £100K can have me on their team for a year :p

On the serious side, that new patch sounds really cool... I like the radio thing, no more BH'ing is great, and I can't wait to try out the voice-coms and spectator thingies...

I wonder if that's just commands made by you or commands received also ;)

Argh better not be received commands too.... wouldn't make sense really cos you'd have an earpiece in for hearing other people's radio chat but you'd have to speak out loud to talk to your teammates on the radio...

If they have fucked up and it's received commands too then there'll be a lot of shouting at radio-spammers....

yeah it surely will be sent only, crazy otherwise.

I thought the army had some clever device whereby you put these pads on your throat and then you dont have to actually say the words you just mouth them? But i guess thats just picky
I remember using them many years ago when they came round my school.

Has anyone here played rogue spear?? Great game! Anyway, i am a bit of a CQB (close quaters battle) & special forces buff. Why is it on counterstirke the flashbangs don't make a noise??

Flash-bang grenades are used to blind and deafen everyone within the area for several seconds, disorientating the terrorists, giving elite squads that vital advantage in a CQB situation

Of course special forces themselves are protected by the use of specail equipment i.e goggles & ear protection....maybe that would be a bit unfair in CS. :)

Anyway, in rogue spear if a flashbang is thrown you are both blinded and deafened (not literally deafened, the noise of the flashbang drowns out everything else) adding to the effect of disorinentation. So for a few seconds along with being blind you would no longer be able to hear footsteps, radio messages, gun fire etc... i can imagine that being quite scarey in real life.....

Maybe something that will be added in a future patch

Saying that, with radio commands heard by the enemy there will be even less team communication on the pubs now...

Need hand signals soon, like the army use...

hmmmm :) [/B]

hmmz cvarlist only write out of game, eh? (sorry for newbie moment i seem to b having) but whats that mean, just that u cant change cvars while u in game?

i have said it b4 and i'll say it again (and prob get flamed while i'm on) but why have cvars? ppl kno it causes arguments, usually with them saying, they dont make any difference, k then put them to default and every1's happy, if they didnt make any difference why bother using them and causing arguments

cvarlist lists all the cvars from the server.cfg file of the server you are currently playing on. This lets you see how the server is setup :)

If you do a cvarlist, it will be off the top of the screen and you will miss loads.

You can do cvarlist cl and cvar list sv to get it to list just thoose specific cvars.

hmm dumping them only to file is a tad annoying, yes doing a cvar list doesnt always show u what u need but its useful to check settings in game :/

Unless I'm getting this all wrong -and they mean you cannot specify a different directory to dump these files to :)

I am really worried about how this Multicast thing will affect the pings.

Ono - don't be. It's a proxy server. In other words, the spectator thingie takes up just one slot on the server in a similar fashion to another player (as a spectator). Then it *itself* acts as a server on a different port number for people to connect to if they just want to watch. In other words, as far as playing on the server is concerned, all you have is one extra "player" connected, which shouldn't affect the lag any more than having one more player join the server normally. The only way I believe it could affect pings is if it was running on the same machine as the game server and the server's CPU isn't up to handling all the work of both the game and the spectator mode gadget. At least, that's my understanding of it.

What I'm more interested to find out is if you can record demos from that overhead view. It'd be great for analysing clan games and deciding on which tactics worked and which didn't work after a game. Anyone with a leaked version tried that? ;)

What do people think about the new voice comms feature? I very much suspect they won't be up to the standard of Battlecom, and if enemies can hear those voices nearby too then I can't see clans bothering to use it. Maybe it'll only be the sent radio commands that'll be audible.
