Moral Dilemma...

Sunday 24th August 2003...

Best friend is getting married, and I'm one of the witnesses. Kick off 2pm.

and at the same time

Villa v Liverpool. Kick off 2pm - first home game of the season, O'Leary's first home game in charge and 2 new signings to watch.



Do I:

a) Phone up my mate on the morning of the wedding, tell him I have terrible diarrhoea (sp.?) and can't possibly make the wedding - thus paving the way to go to the Villa match...

b) Offer to take the marriage certificate to the match, sign it on the pitch at half-time and get it back in time for the evening bash so they can complete the formalities

c) Go to the wedding, do my duty and get the result on teletext after the ceremony

or

d) Kidnap my best mate, take him to the game and get him back a few hours late and hope the bride didn't call the whole thing off?


At the moment, I'm thinking d) has real potential...

Well, this is how it should be. If he's your best friend, and he'd understand...then surely she'd understand as well. Isn't that like what being a bride is all about?
