I remember me and a mate having a monkey Island slagging match in the school yard playground some years ago.

We wen' through about 40 insults each, and then I ran out, and had to surrender.

people always looked at me strangely after that

Escape from Monkey Island is the only one I havent completed yet.

I love the series but got to admit, I prefer the Discworld games.

Well so far bought all and finished all, with the 4th being the most annoying (due controls) and the fact that the things you need to do in 4 are really far-fetched. With 3 being the best graphically and 2 being the best story-wise (while 2 was supposed to be a press-only release to show them what Lucasarts could do the public loved it even better making it a fullworthy Monkey Island Game afterall and ofcourse making Lucasarts big bucks for selling those crappy floppydisks at $60 per game:p)

But in other words, yes Monkey Island is also on my list of all time favourite pc games :)

All the Monkey Island games, except the last one with 3D gfx and shitty keyboard controls :> are the best adventures ever. I like MI4, but I really hate that keyboard control stuff, and the gfx is not as nice as the old stuff :(

Best adventure games ever:

Monkey Island 1+2+3, Police Quest (the point/click & text-adventures, not the new shoot+blabla ones), Kings Quest, Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry 1+2+3+5, Maniac Mansion 1+2, Zak McCracken and the Alien mind-benders, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, The Dig, Sam & Max - Hit the road.

Should pretty much sum it up, maybe I forgot 1 or 2 :)

Hmm i think Meathook with his parrot tatoo gives a nice flavour to it, then again, the whining from Otis&Carla in EFMI also gives a laugh (if you played the previous 3)

I threw that game in my neighbours pond, it pissed me off being stuck on this big sundial looking thing on the coast/cliff top with no idea what to do next...

What was the name of that game that was about on the old Amstrad and Commodores - involved a roundabout of some sort and you started the adventure on the bus, where you had to ring the bell to get off...

It was a text based one, but i can't even remember its name :wall:

Jester?

it'll come to me. In the meantime, i still love the old Nethack :great:

hehe, The Dig was good... all (99.99%) of lucasarts games were fantastic.

However, i do have to say, Sam & Max Hit The Road is THE best :)

Aye, it was crapola unfortunately...

Anyways, anything windows based, and runs on a P2 & easy to hide when your at work is good for me ;)

*You hear Marcus and Neiman arguing*

*You feel a strange sense of foreboding*

edit: STILL can't remember the name of that game, but "Jester" sticks in my mind for some reason still...
