BTW FB have you chosen or bought a monitor?
The only reason I ask is that you stated in your original post that 19" would be too big.
I upgraded from a old slightly crappy 17" to a nice Sony E430 19" and found that in most respects the size difference was only slight.
I am lucky I have a big desk ( and now actually have both monitors on a dual head card) but have a look at the dimensions of a few 19" monitors. You will, without doubt appreciate the extra room on a larger screen, and so it may be worth looking into.
