Weird, I always read / heard that each WP level (e.g. 5%) increased your RvR damage by about 2.5-2.9% (and mom 3% ofc), if we'd extrapolate that to 39%, it should give 20% increase, and not 11% increase in damage as that person says... Perhaps this was always PvE?

Intresting at least though...

To compare MoM to WP you need to bring the "average crit" into the equation. The average crit is around 30% based on the fact that you can crit for no less than 10% and no more than 50% (except for DoTs and PvE).

If we compare the current MoM and WP:

MoM1: 3% damage increase (or to compare it to WP... 3 x 100% crits per 100 DDs casted)

WP1: 5% chance to crit = 5 x 30% crits per 100 DDs casted (or to compare it to MoM... a 1.5% damage increase)

Dmg Increase is meansured by [avg dmg after]/[avg dmg before], which is not the same as [crit % bonus]*[avg crit dmg] once you take into account you have a base chance to crit.

His numbers are more accurate by doing so.... Except that RvR crits are from 10% to 49% (not 50%).
The point remains though, MoM is more efficient at raising your damage than WP.

Forgot to say, to compare the new WP5 (which is 39%) to MoM, you need to take 30% of the 39% which is 11.7%. This number can be compared directly to MoM. The testing in the link above seems very accurate.

MoM has always been superior to WP, but in the new frontiers expansion they are pretty close.

edit: probably correct Pin :) but it's very easy to get a "ballpark figure" if you just take 30% of the WP numbers :)

I don't think it's superior, dmg over time isn't always the most important thing :x

i'd take wp3 over mom3 any day of the week. 20extra dmg wont kill your target significantly faster, a nice crit will (and it costs no power)

50%-1dmg, not 49%. bad pin.

and MoM is better for your DPS.. however, 20 more dmg/nuke usually wont kill anything. A crit for 300 will.

Show me 1 screenshot of anyone (excepting zerkers) doing any critical hit in RvR of over 49% ;)

The game takes a random integer number between 10 and 49 (inclusive), multiplies by base damage and truncates.

Arnor says:

damage

over

time

spells

:p

(atleast i think they are the other thing that can crit for more then 49% in rvr)
