Mods: WHY are you closing so many threads!?

if you have a problem with a thread being closed try pming the moderator that closed it. Threads can be unlocked too you know.

The only threads I've been closing recently have been filled with "QQ! sux! cry more noob!" and nothing but spam.

If there's still some decent discussion going on I'll leave it and mod out the crap but if the entire thread is just a spamfest I'm going to lock it.

I don't close anything that's just a whine - whining is expected
if it turns into two people fighting away with flames I'll lock it and tell them to take it to PMs, if it's a thread entirely filled with spam I'll lock it.

I see 3 locked threads on the RvR boards first page at the moment - hardly a police state. One a post about patch notes that has turned entirely into spam, another that was Clipse posting cryptic grumbles about bards (and the mod comment was to PM her to have it unlocked) .
Not sure who locked the third thread as there's no comment. (can the thread posters still lock threads?)

Where is the Crypticness? I assume people know I am talking about BArd's ability to use SOM. I wont make it an issue, I'm used to it, 75% of my threads are usually closed. Yet when some1 makes a thread called :

If a thread is entirely made out of spam with a coating of spam and covered in spam sauce I'll lock it.

I could just delete the entire thread but I think the incredible vanishing threads might annoy you lot even more

Not everyone would know it was about bards using traitor dagger - take the subject:
"Flying Winged Wizard Monkey Bitches with Instanukes!"

Someone might be talking about the pendragon atlantis tablet crocform change (the temporary harpy one that was backed up) in combination with Volcanic Pillar.

If the content of the post had been "wtf? why do bards get shadeform" rather than "the list goes on..." then Ziva maybe wouldn't have locked it in the first place.

The Zoyster thread got about 9 pages within minutes - pretty sure I locked it the moment I got the reported message email...

i just strongly believe that threads should only be locked if they are a Personal attack on someone which is unfair.. that zoyster thread was the only thread recently that should actually have been locked imo. the rest have been arguing between people, and however pointless that might seem to the mods thats not a reason to lock them!

the 1.70AA thread is spam, that gets locked.

If you want to play at "+1" then go get your own forum to marvel at your postcount on.

Read the Code of Conduct as to what should and shouldn't be allowed on the forums - if it's not allowed it gets deleted or locked (depending on whether it's a cesspool of crap or a couple of bad apples on an otherwise healthy tree)
