Mobo POST Problems

Guys,

Building a new system and cant even get it to power up.

Abit AV8-3RD Eye Skt 939 motherboard coupled with AMD (Venice) Athlon 64 3500+ with 1GB of Kingston RAM.

PSU is a Tagan 480-U01.

Everything wired together and I switch on - after about 5 secs I get 2 beeps and it powers off. The onboard led displayed the code 87.

CPU Fan spins ok and I also removed ALL components and wires.

Any suggestions?

Looks like the above suggestion could well be the answer - then again. The guy below had exactly the same problem.

Code 87 on an abit motherboard.

Yes - cleared the CMOS - nada
Yes - removed the momory - nada.

Ive contacted Abit, but I wont hold my breath waiting - looks like a possible replacement board?
