Motherboard details :

Asus Motherboard
A7V333
Socket A Motherboard
VIA KT333 Chipset
DDR SDRAM

Problem :

I've just installed this new mobo and power it on, all the LED's light up but I don't get any display on my monitor. I don't even get any beeps or anything, it's like my compter is running fine but my monitor lead is unplugged (Which it isn't).

Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Also make sure your processor is set up right in the BIOS, ASUS mobos have a nasty habit of refusing to boot up if something's not quite set right. :/

Thanks for your help.

The motherboard actually talks to you on boot up apparantly, it's saying to me (In a sexy voice :D ) that I have a "system failed cpu test".

I'll attempt to reseat everything again and hope.

Yeah the new asus mobos are pretty good. But unfortunatly that error's not that helpful. :/

You may want to clear the CMOS and try again, it's probably just something been set wrong.

If it's not something set wrong, take the CPU back to the place you got it and get them to test it.

What CPU is it?

Well apparantly its a well known board for being very, very faulty. For every one person who it works for, another three people have taken theirs back to the shop.

Guess It's another trip out to PCWorld tomorrow to get another make of board.

Strange, the place where I used to work swears by asus mobos. They're not normally that faulty.

Weird. But then, this is PC world, and they probably dropkicked the box on route.

I really wish it was working, it's apparantly a very good board.

Guess I'll take my chances with the same model and risk having to make two trips.

Just bought an Epox and it ran straight away with absoloutly no problems at all.

That makes two Epox mobos that I am in love with now. :D

I have an Epox and an Asus motherboard. The Epox has always worked faultlessly and the Asus had some odd issues at the start; often wouldn't boot up, crashed all the time, froze a lot.

I sorted it by getting an upgraded power supply. The old one was 300W and that just wasn't enough. 400W has no problems at all.
