Time for another crack at Aerus City. I'm making a few changes to the lotto rules to try to handle the amount of loot a bit more efficiently this time. (PLEASE READ THE LOOT PLAN.) Any ML8 or higher people are welcome, whether it is for loot or for credit!

It's a free for all, as usual, but if anyone is coming for credit, could you please say so that I know to plan to do all the encounters. (If people are all coming for loot, we'll aim to do more farming of the more loot-efficient monsters.)

Time: Meet 7pm (BST) for 7:30 depart

Place: Aerus Haven

Aim: If anyone needs credit, we will complete the whole of ML9. If not, we'll focus more on generating as much good loot as we can, as quickly as possible - plus Phoenix.

Prerequisites: In order to be able to enter Aerus City, you must have previously completed ML8.

Loot: Static drops, scrolls, and remains will be lottoed separately.

Static Drop Lotto: We will lotto jewellery first, then weapons/shields, then pieces of armour. Once you have won an item (in any category) you may not roll again until everyone on the raid has at least one item.

For each category, everyone interested will roll and we will order the rolls into a list. Working down the list, people will be invited to pick one item in that category that they want ... if there is nothing left that they wish to take, they may _pass_ on that roll and still be allowed to roll for the next categories.

eg. We begin with the jewellery category. Someone rolls 88 which puts them in with a good chance of some very nice drop, but when it is their turn, they decide that the drop they hoped for is no longer there and instead of selecting one of the rest, they decide they prefer to take their chances on picking up a nice shield they had their eye on. So they pass, and the next person in the list gets to choose from the remaining jewellery.

For future reference can we please keep these ML and other epic raid notices to alliance forums? It's so predictable how Midgard raids our frontier to minimal resistance every time it's just sad. And we keep making this same mistake.

I don't think Mids raiding on Friday night was anything to do with an ML9 raid (which wasn't that large anyway, at least not compared to some I've run). I bet there were at least twice as many Albs in Emain as were in Aerus City.

Also, not everyone is in an alliance, or reads those forums. These raids are public, and open to all, including unguilded people.

I doubt tonight's raid had any influence on midgard's activities, mids simply aren't smart enough to take advantage of these forums :p

Was a nice raid though.. infact, need more AC farming raids ;)

It's happened enough for people to be paranoid about publicly publicised raids.

There were a lot of people in emain yes, but many of them probably got sick of being prawned by the larger and better organised midgard force in our own frontier.

In any case is there any reason to give away info on these raids which really do put our realm's frontier at risk? Just saying midgard players are dumb doesn't make it so. It's only logical for them to attack when the defense is at a minimum. Anyway just ignore my comments here - I'm sure everyone will in any case. I'm just tired of helping to defend our frontier only to find that most of alb is either on a large raid or running emain leaving a small force to die at home while defending your keeps and relics.

This is the age old problem of Albion's organisation though.
When I checked, there were over 80 Albs in the frontier and the largest number of mids reported was 70, who were split between different zones. Now if 80 albs can't hold back 70 mids(with 5fg in CS and 3fg in HW) it's because there's no command structure and adding more albs won't help.

In the past month, I've been on defence raids where the people leading get lost on the way from Berks to Surs... or leaving Excal for Berks, and ending up at Bold. Normally the people choosing to lead defence raids don't know the position of keeps and don't even have a map. Infact, the last defence I paid any attention to was about 3months ago, with 100people in the cg and there was soo much abuse and bickering, I had to leave it. The state of albs defence is at an all time low and the only way I can see it being fixed is for organised groups to work together and leave everyone else. So it might seem elitist to some, but I'd rather work with players who've given time to study maps and know the enemies strenghts/weaknesses, then with people who's biggest challenge is moving 100 people without getting lost. 2 groups who know the situation can work better than 5 groups who don't.

This has always been a problem, during keep retakes. the raid leader is telling everyone not to charge, and a whole zerg of randoms surge forward. Raid leader tells people to meet at XXXXXX and one hour later there's only one group at the meeting point, while 60 odd people are running seperately to Renaris and suiciding on the gates, only to /release and repeat. And then the cg is being abused by RP farmers, who only want the loc of enemies with little intention of joining any retakes. So with all these conflicting interests, is it any wonder that 80 albs get farmed by 30 mids? Will it help by adding more albs?

Moving raid info to private forums isn't the answer... improving the defence is the only thing that will help.

Granted some good points there which albion does seriously need to address, because it's always the same story when midgard raids, lots of confused people bumbling into the midgard zerg 1fg at a time, getting prawned then logging out or doing something else. But now I guess this is off topic :(

(Sorry for seeming like a flaming whiner on this thread but last night was very frustrating :( )

If anyone wants to suggest ways that alb can actually suggest its realm defence then it might be worthwhile starting thread in this forum for the purpose.

[edit - cleared up slight mistake]
