If raid goes ahead I think it starts at 6 pm UK time, Lorimez, heading out at 6.30...

:confused:

Bloody timezones. If Clerice is located in europe then I suppose that this event will start at 6 BST. But if not, then it might start at 7 BST. Maybe we should start using internet time for raids.

To be honest you can't expect foreigners to know about British Summer time, when half the fucking Brits can't even work it out.

GMT+1 is BST which is the current UK time (British Summer Time) ... can we just have a clear statement from the raid leader to clarify the time for once and for all? (6pm UK time ain't a reasonable time for many UK based people 'coz of work etc)

Most likely 6 BST, yeah. Dutchland is in GMT+2 now! Or something.

*edit*
I keep forgetting to state that I'm in for the credit.

Ok to clarify for all.

GMT (Greenich Mean Time)
BST (British Summer Time)
CET (Central European Time)

BST = GMT+1
CET = GMT+1
BST = CET

The UK is currently in BST as it always is during the summer, although as already mention many outside the UK wont know about this.

Clerice originally posted

BG will be on Clerice at 7.00 (gmt+1), we will move out NO later then 7.30(gmt+1).

Which for the people in the UK was the same as BST (there current clock)

So by typing (gmt+1) clerice was saying that the raid was to be held at 6pm CET/BST. Had this been a winter month we would all have turned up an hour earlier as our clocks would have gone back an hour.

Confused yet ?

I certainly was. I logged on at 7 (gmt+1) to find the raid had started an hour earlier. The raid actually gathered at 7 (cet+1) and left at 7:30 (cet+1) but with the extra hour we have in summer and us already being in cet we where an hour late.

The intention was good but lesson learn i guess, may just be simpler to post in either GMT or CET and let everyone figure it out in there own time (no pun intended... honest :clap: )

At the end it all worked out and most got the credit they where after. It was a well run raid and clerice deserves Kudos for doing it.

I for one hope Clerice runs this raid tonight and to clear it up Clerice would like us to gather at 6 CET/BST. Thats 6pm current UK time.

But it's still an hour earlier in the UK as it is in the NL. Since we got an extra hour too. So isn't it that CET is BST+1?

As i said people, I wont be leading this raid, also because of lots of insults from people trough pm's I just dont want to lead this.

But not only that, i got RL stuff to do wich is far more important, i'm sure there is some one who can lead this.

wrong :flame: UK never ever has the same time as CET, hence your "BST = CET" statement is wrong ...
CET currently is GMT+2 and BST is GMT+1 ...
raids should be posted either as UK time or CET (UK is always CET-1 and CET is always UK time +1, no matter if summer or winter)

Its pretty simple :)

Raid starts 7.00 (gmt+1)
therefore raid starts 8.00 (gmt)

In the uk were currently one hour ahead of GMT due to daylight davings, as shown in the above link, so if your in the uk..

Raid starts at 9.00

<bangs head against wall... fun this aint it>

and before you flame, yup i know this is flawed, im just here to confuse.

Central Europe is not on CET atm, but actually on CEST (Central European Summer Time). Afaik UK is always one hour behind Central Europe, because we all use Summer Time.

IMHO it would be best if we all referred to UK time when posting on FH, and that we mentioned it too; e.g. "Raid will start at 6 pm UK time".

;)

Headache +1.

Anyway, we got a more pressing issue now. Gotcha/Clerice can't lead this raid tonight due to other obligations, so, someone else will have to. Preferably someone who already has credit and paid attention on the last time. Anyone?

I've been told Clerice won't be on again this evening.. although I'd rather he was so he can complete ml8! Everyone takes some abuse for leading raids, but sometimes there're suggestions worth considering. There shouldn't be any confusion over when the raid is starting, it's better not to use GMT as some people don't know how summer time works. Use CET instead or just say "UK" time ;)

I know a couple of people who've been trying to do ML8 for a while and were counting on tonight's raid. I can only suggest everyone(including Clerice) still meets up and starts grouping. Raid can be done with 3fg, although I'm sure there will be more people in attendance.

If Clerice isn't online, there is the problem with Kratos(8.5) and gatheirng his items. I don't know if anyone is holding these for the raid or not. I have the items from pre-reqs(leg, torso, arm) and for the kratos step, I have the centaur heads.

At 18:30(BST) if there're enough people for the raid I can run it - although I'd rather someone else did as my net connection is not very stable at the moment, and I can LD and stay offline at any moment oO would be wiser for someone else to lead and I can add any support if needed.

+ During the summer, clocks go forward one hour(in some EU countries).
GMT doesn't change though, it stays constant all year round. This is what it looks like:

Winter: GMT = 00:00 --- UKtime = 00:00 --- CET = 01:00
Summer: GMT= 00:00 --- UKtime = 01:00 --- CET = 02:00

This is why summer time in the UK is called BST(british summer time). If the other Europeans weren't lazy, they'd call summer-time CEST :p

no ... BST = GMT+1 ... the problem with CET is that there is no different name for it's summer and winter versions, hence at the moment CET is GMT+2 (or BST+1 if you like) :fluffle:

You get an extra hour? That's so unfair :(
