GMT is the same as BST currently.

If you live in UK is the time not 7pm. Therefore BST = 7pm

otherwise it would be 6pm in LOndon, 7 pm everywhere les in uk and 8pm in europe.

BST was invented to allow longer days during summer.

How wrong can somebody get on this

I particularly like the way days get longer during summer because the clocks change for DST. I thought everybody knew that the days were longer because they expand in the heat.
