Gents,
I'm looking at a possible upgrade sometime in the new year and I'm looking to go over to something compact, discreet, quiet, small, packs a punch and somewhat fashionable. I've currently got a Lian Li full-tower in alu black which is gorgeous, but it's massive and I do not need anything this big any longer.
Main requirements:
- photography work (Creative Studio 6 utilises multiple cores)
- probable video work eventually
- the occasional game, not that bothered
- regular transcoding of files for streaming to the PS3
- no overclocking required at all, going for stock / quiet / stable
- I've not listed memory below, but no less than 8GB
- expandability is of no concern (as long as I can swap out existing pieces)
I've started with the case, and I've got something like this in mind:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-186-LL&groupid=2362&catid=187&subcat= (i'd remove the blue LED fan for a standard one...)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-245-LL&groupid=2362&catid=187&subcat= (the former has better cooling with the fan)

My question is around ITX motherboards and what I need to look for (what chipset? what features? any pitfalls? any limitations with CPU?).
Mobo I was thinking:
Asus P8H77-I Intel H77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 MiniITX Motherboard (always had good ASUS experiences)
CPU I was thinking:
Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (quad core)
Drives I was thinking:
Samsung 128GB 830 Series SSD - OS and main apps
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache -porn and warez photography files (I've got 1TB NAS in a redundant setup for archiving, plus all my music is there).
Thoughts?
