Mincers SoS

A very nice RA indeed if you are an alb that is.

I have a question, how does it really work? Let's say that an assassin uses snare on a mincer and the mincer goes SoS, does he run off in max speed or does he have to purge it before he can do the SoS thingy?

I have an odd feeling that it overruns snare even if a DoT is still ticking. Snared mincers and used DoT, seen them take damage while running of in SoS speed, which means that he/she cant have purged. Is it bugged, supposed to work this way or am i just plain wrong here?

SoS overruns snare/root/

If you're DoT'd you'll get insta mach 5 for 30 sec.

My new toy works nice on minstrels that SoS away at 5% hp and think they're safe.

Longshot.

Question now is, how long before the buggers learn to SoS at 20% not 5% ;)

Another Minstrel got revenge for you last night anyway mate, was wandering around as my Animist unbuffed whilst the other Hibs were off chasing snow faeries or whatever the flying fuck they were doing and this buffed Minstrel kicked the crap out of me :p

Inf zergs at AMG make short work of me now. I could swear Mythic slyly took assassin poisons back off the resist tables, oddly DoTs are ticking for 90dmg+ with 29% body and str/const buffs turn me into an old granny for half an hour. Maybe I'm just getting too old for this fighting lark ;)

Got that capped too, everything is, wearing a 100% capped SC suit but I thought assassin poisons were body? DoT proc is matter tho afaik if that's what you mean?

So in fact, Mincers has Purge*2. Good for them.

temporary purge fyi :p
and once sos wears off, ur root/snare/mez will still be in place unless its timers run iout or you've been hit ect.

if you're mezzed sos wont negate mez, you need to sos before mez hits.

its not purge, it just allows them to move for 30 secs.

if mezzed u still can't attack if minstrel uses sos,
if stunned u still can't attack if minstrel uses sos
if dotted u still take damage if minstrel uses sos
if rooted u can move freely so effectovely purged for 30 secs, but if the root is still active when the r.a stops, u will still be rooted.

sos really is a tool to help avoid pbaoe, when mezzed or stunned, i feel its a nice skill for minstrels to have

it is ok

you cannot fire sos when mezzed / stunned btw

for PvE too

Makes a change that someone actually asks what SoS does rather than make completely wrong assumptions as is normal. Had a minstrel friend, who will go nameless, get the SoS RA and then ask me whether it was bugged because he was unable to use it while mezzed or stunned. Another time, I used it when a tank I was grouped with got mezzed, and the silly bugger chased the enemy from mmg to mpk wondering why he was unable to attack said skald... :p It really isn't quite as uber as some people seem to be make out, but very nice non the less. The biggest benefit is the confusion it causes amongst the enemy. If people all attacked the same guy after ae mezzing an SoS'ed group, then it wouldn't really help that much, but such is the nature of rvr, that that rarely happens...

one of my (recently anyway) more frequent uses of SoS is to outrun patrols that catch me on the way to uppland/gorge. from what I gather, SoS is 200% speed, speed 5 is 203% and guards run at 203%. With a full end bar used on sprint, the guards eventually give up chasing :)

You were lucky then, once when Cagan and me were hunting in Jamtland we encountered some local patriot there :) -> insta mezz -> speed 5 + sprint...

Well, after my mezz cancelled, they were coming after us faster than 203% 'cause they reached us in ~45 sec (my mezz 20-30 sec, depends on con I guess).

The mezz was possibly where you went wrong - wouldn't it activate the anti-kite code (which encourages mobs to chase you for longer)? If you don't do anything except run, they'll give up chasing.

Tried the SoS+endregen sprint earlier too, that didn't work so we thought maybe this :D

aye, i've sos'd/sprinted several times to get away from patrols on my way to bully greycons in uppland :O

and i thought mach 5 was 126% speed increase, and sos was the same? but dunno :O

seems mach 5 is 204% and SoS is "double speed" (why I took it to mean 200%).
