Anyone got a home meat mincer/grinder? If so are they any good? I am considering getting an electric one as I use alot of minced meat and I am sick of the crappy stuff the supermarkets pass off as 'premium quality'.

Why not just go to a decent butcher?? Fact is, meat from supermarkets is wank. I dont care what you think your meat tastes like from your local asda, or in Lamps case, Waitrose, its crap compared to a good butcher. You might have to pay a bit extra, but you cant put a price on quality

I do pay good money and often use proper butchers, thing is even alot of good butchers have been known to pad out beef mince with lambs liver to give it a blood red appearance. Slainyou was in the meat trade for 15 years and told me it is common practice in all but the highest quality butchers.

Thing is, I would prefer to buy my own meat and poultry and mince it myself, that way I know exactly what I am getting and can lower the fat content to my own personal taste.

Worked in a butchers myself for about a year and we were told to mix some low quality ince with the good stuff and mince it 2 or 3 more times to make more so not all butchers are great quality imo...
