FH news Migration to Xenforo 2

Afternoon,

Just thought I would share some details about the plans for FreddysHouse. As some of you maybe aware FreddysHouse runs on Xenforo 1.x and has been pretty good on that platform. The developers of Xenforo released a new version 2.x train which completely breaks all styles and addons. All the new goodies are only being released for v2.x and that is why I want to move to this platform as soon as possible.

Over the past couple of days I have imported the database into XF2.0.10 and installed the equivalent version 2 addons where available, unfortunately not all are and the post ratings addon is not available but there are other options available.

Things look pretty good, I need to try and style the green which is proving harder than expected as I paid the creator of this style to do a green version, I might just do that again based on the cost.

If anyone has experience of styling in Xenforo both v1 and v2 and wants to help please let me know...

XF 2 is really nice!

Finally finished working with an addon author to help fix certain issues with search not returning the same results as the XF1 version.

Now just need 1 more addon to be made compatible, which the same author is working on and then I can do the upgrade.

Thought I would provide an update, the upgrade is still going ahead and I have spent most of today performing a test upgrade of FreddysHouse to Xenforo 2.1.

Yup had a play yesterday. I like the changes and the green theme looks very similar :j. Not managed to break it yet.

No worries. Will do some more later along those lines. Have to do it when i go on the pc not from my apple device

Just did a test upgrade of these forums yesterday to XF 2.1, took about 3 hours, tons of table alterations, importing of Post Ratings, upgrading the addons and configuring the settings.

Think I am getting close now to pulling the trigger.
