Maybe im just ignorant but what would be the problem with every guild in midgard being in the one alliance ?

Wow I cant believe Im saying this before Roo but...

Theres a limit of 20 guilds per alliance.

Despite emails, PM's, Right Now requests, posts on VN, filling in the support form on Mythic's own site, I never ever received a reply to anything other than GOA saying they would forward it.

The limit is appalling. Its not about having a big alliance, its about having people that want to play as a team for specific types of events and actions.

But as has been said, like-minded peeps makes for a successful alliance, rather than lots of peeps. There's been some interesting discussions on it if you want to do a search and the question on why several alliances has been pretty thoroughly answered.

Even though the Fedaykin alliance shrunk, we made a decision we weren't going to join any other alliance leaving the guilds that had stayed out in the cold, unless they could come too. When you look at some of the guilds that form the alliance, it becomes readily apparant that there would be... difficulties ;)

So we stayed out of other alliances even though we knew we would have benefitted.

Principles. Some days having them really sucks ;)

There can be many reasons why some people would make a small guild; they might be friends outside game, they might be from same country (this is popular) or they might be family (that'd be us). We're still around just as we started. Got few new members but those being our alts, it probably doesn't count :)
Getting news never was easy for us, until we joined alliance.
With the alliance guild limits, all can't fit in same alliance, and it wouldn't be very good anyway as guilds and people don't always share same interests, some want to use alliance as realm wide chat channel, some want rvr only, some want alot pve, etc.
I think all guilds, small ones too, should find and join an alliance that suits them, to get and report those important news.

Communications between alliances is something that could use some work I suppose.

We created Enhärjarna in the early days, at that time we where only about 10 members but we have grown since then (we got 58 members now) and only 5 members have left us during this time, 3 have quit playing and 2 changed guilds.
And it is sad that some of the bigger guilds falling apart and more new, smaller guilds are beeing created. Smaller guilds are often not welcome in alliances cause some bigger guilds feel like the smaller guilds can't contribute to the alliance.

We in midgard have a lack of communication, some people just don't care to share information with other guilds. Information is very important if Midgard is under attack. If you are in a guild without alliance, do a /t to someone in another guild and ask them to inform their alliance.
