Midgard casters and Hibernia casters.

After 1 day of extensive BG fighting I found out that Elfs go down like flies o_O

ok, so that's obvious, most are casters and got shit HP. You'd then think that their Midgard equivellants go down the same way...
Yet nothing could be further from the truth.. I can't 1-shot blue Spiritmasters, nor blue Runemasters.. both Kobold or Norseman they just WON'T go down. I PA them for about 60-70% of their health and since they are constantly with friends I then have to run like hell to avoid their friends. Yet they always have enough HP left so they stay alive after being poisoned.

I just can't get it.. and fellow infiltrators had the same thing. Elves go down with ease, yet I do more dmage with PA on a blue hunter than on a Midgard caster..

Does anyone have info on this? apart from the "new weapon" or "you're gimped" replies.

(btw. This is all based on the 20-24 BGs)

Only difference I'm aware of is that elves/lurikeens have a lower starting con than kobolds and norsemen. Elves/luris have 40, kobbies have 50 and norse has 70.

Doub't they'd be on a different HP table, could just be unlucky with some peeps having better armor tho :m00:

I have a 31 Runie who always defeats Hib casters 1v1. Bolt for bolt I seem to hit harder and cast faster. I say 'Bolt for bolt' because a battle with another caster never usually lasts more than two bolts. In the case of Hib mages it's usually just the one.

I hit harder and last longer than they do. No clue why, I just do.

The thing is, to pick the right target. Shamen and Healers look like casters but they wear chain... I know this because my slash strike gives me a (-xx) penalty.

I'm started to remember names of mid casters and last night I killed a few yellow-con casters, standing or sitting.

Upcuatro(?), I suspect he's a shaman... he does all of that blue magic stuff, but he's a good example of picking the wrong target :)

I saw one of your attacks at the BG's and when I noticed the thread I couldnt stop laughing.
I wont give up any names here but the "runemaster" you tryed to PA was actually a skald holding a stick :p

Could be something to do with relics and bolts hitting slightly harder. Is also to do with the Constitution stats of Elves, Kobold and Norsemen. KObolds can have anywhere from 40 - 80 more HP's, Norse even more. Oh well :)

I have noticed the same. I have 1 shot blue and yellow hib casters dozens of times, even druids but it usually takes me 3 to take a mid caster down, usually means i die or i run after first shot if they r in agroup. Tis a little frustrating.

It was the same way back in beta when I played a Runey. Easily traded bolts with Alb/Hib casters and won. 1 shot yellows etc etc.

Its a pure Con thing IMO. After swapping to Alb and playing an Avalonian I cringed when i compared HP's with my dwarf at the same level.

I hate these super twinked casters in Thidranki.

What's the point of going there, if you PA a ~lv24 Spiritmaster Kobold for 550... and he lives! He even survives your next attack for 50...

How the hell can someone at that level have over 600HP?

I stuck 10 points into CON and I get one hit, but only by higher levels than me, and then only SB, the occasional Infil, scouts/hunters and bolt throwers :p

Even without the Relic Bonus I can one bolt yellow con kobbies and avalonians, and most blue con norse, briton and dwarf casters. I somehow managed to cap (776) on a yellow con Avalonian the other day, needless to say she died instantly.

My INT and +Void are at their respective caps though, so that maximises my damage.

Compare the damage done by a Midgaard SB and another assassin doing a PA and you will see why elfs go down in one shot and kobolds don't.

Con must be the major factor - plus I think Middies might be better equipped than the others as we seem to be pretty generous to our fellow casters - Most of my decent stuff was given to me by realm mates (many of whom I didnt know at all) and as I've levelled up I have returned the favour.

I remember when I started on Excaliber Alb (yeugh!) there was very little given away and quite a lot of people flogging low level drops for gold - sigh!

Plus - infiltrators heh I've killed a few as my Spiritmaster - I seem to have pretty similar hp to them - they hit me - I mez them - send in pet - life drain, life drain and (sometimes) life drain - they fall down and I walk away nicely healed to the max :) - still I envy them stealth (at the moment till it gets nerfed to hell!) - make a minstrel if you want to kill casters or wait for em to sit down.

P.S. Its all downhill from here for you stealthers - better get rolling that tank up :)
