Ehh Kulgan, thanes do get PBAE insta-cast spell. The best does only 69 damage though, if right next to caster. However if all thanes at that door had casted it at the same time, I think some of those on the other side would have died

Err, sorta.

Despite being an albion on prywd, i know most mids *dont* cheat. In fact, i doubt that even the level 50 hunters we all know and love(and like playing Shoot the Armsmen with me in emain, or Who can Bolt the newly ressed armsmen with 50 HP fastest, etc....) have ever cheated or used the bugged bow. Most times the sinister-types are hugging the base of the hill to shoot us, and we always can fire back from our positions, always. I will admit, i know of a midgard who used the bugged bow on me a few weeks ago.

After taking some ~72 damage hits from and unknown source(and quietly thinking, "OMG a yellow con mid?"), i searched the front lines, and found nothing. A few minutes later when my target was cleared i got him targetted; a yellow con kobold/norsemen named (I seem to have forgotten his name, LOL. He was ~level 29-31, and his name was like Fridgi or something...ugh.) . I noticed the range was INSANE. If you know your emain topography near the Alb PK, i was standing approximately halfway down the hill. My assailant stood at the *BACK* of the midgard lines near the smaller hill(straight out from our PK, with the loghery men..) and the path which leads left toward our MG. Using the handy f5 targetting i worked the range out to be ~3.2k units, which is the assumed target for the bugged bow. I apologize for being unable to offer proof of my claim other than my own word, but i did not know the gravity of the situation. Also not knowing the name of my assailant i cannot report him.

*some* mids use the bugged bow, thats ok. Ill report them as i see them, from now on. I know how it works.

Just as a point, PBAEs are completely legal in keep defense, deal with it. I saw many an AE cast on the door to fed us off, most worked well enough to scatter some. Also, i saw that *SOME* spiritmaster at Bledmeer sent his pet through the door at the keep about 5 times, each time me going after and being forced to dispatch it.

PS: Thing, because you can one shot some albions doesnt make you god. If you didnt have those 40 other purple con trolls backing you up, id charge you and cut you apart as best i could...charging solo purple cons is never beyond me

A cheat is a cheat. Its no less acceptable for both sides using it. Its still a cheat. I think it would be nice if keep doors reflected the spells attacks back on the casters. That would stop ANY AOE/PBAOE spells would it not?

Instead of insulting each other why don't we actually sit and try and decide on possible solutions to the problems in hand?

The bow will be fixed soon. Thats one problem resolved. We are going to have to wait for any solutions anyway so we might as well sit and get a discussion going on how we can improve the RvR realm attack and defence tools as they stand.

I like the rams or catapults they are a nice idea. What we need now are defence tools. I dont (however) think that keeps should automatically have them, (attackers don't - so why should defenders?). I think Blacksmiths should have to make keep defences like boiling oil, caltraps etc to be thrown off the ramparts onto the attacking hordes below.

I'd like to see some more skills for enchanters - anyone can be a blacksmith/fletcher etc. I'd like to see an enchanter trade skill which would allow magicians to 'enchant' certain items. Might be interesting - they have to buy ingredients for enchanting in the same way other crafters do.

As it stands the walls are a little exposed - this makes it difficult for any kind of ranged archer combat (a shame I feel) - I think it would be nice if each keep had an archer tower at the main gates with arrow slits through which defending archers could fire. A very skilled bowman might be able to fire back through the slit at the defenders - would certainly make it more interesting than it is at present - where everyone stays off the walls and just mills around at the doors aoe ing everything in sight.

Never played Diablo 2, Never played FPS games, never saw a hole in Everquest (plenty dungeons).

And for all those ALbions that have ever been speared to death by Thing or Del may i let you know theres a BUGGED Spear which all Hunters have access to its AMAZING called the Golden Alloy Great SPear see its got to be cool cause we manage to kill plate wearing blue cons with it. Oh and the bug on it is it drops 50 times more commonly than any other item in our Epic zone.

I made Lvl 50 in 16 days played time, the only thing you need is a great Group and to know where are the great EXP Spots for your current Lvl are, thats it.

You dont have to be a Powergamer to get to lvl 50 in a short time. I work 10 hours a day as well, have a GF too, soo my online time is limited but still try to be effective!

But you are right in one aspect, fast exp is possible after 40 but as you pointed out, a group is needed. When I end up in decent one (PBAoE with me as nuker) the exp flow is ok . But I still find 5 high lvl chars with that guy's schedule a bit hard to believe. I might be wrong though, nothing is impossible

I earn 55k a year as an IT consultant in London i have 4 pcs at home 3 kids who all play DAOC as well and when i play i know exactly where to kill to level up fast since i played first 6 monthes of the game on US server.
I play on average 5 hours per night and 6 hours per day weekends, no i dont go to pubs i relax watching u lot get stressed.
Buying the Prima Guide also means i know exactly where all apprioate level mobs are for a group or solo play.

As Cruz said having the right group can help people level up fast and since most of Mid 40+ only go to the Epic zone now ultra baf fast respawn. Its amazing xps.

But then you have your opionon and i have mine.

I myself dont care if i get shot inside a keep - arrows can go in an arc (up and then down) over the walls. Imagine Henry V.

PBAOE through doors is great - wizards have some use.

Actually strange as it may seem alot of us on Euro servers had played before.

Oh by the way 1 x 50 Hunter other is a Healer hummm ever heard of playing 2 pcs at once during a PVE session.

/autotarget mob losing health/stick attack for the melee.

You are preaching to someone who knows better having played all the realms, I am not some n00b with no idea how the game works. My whole point is this, a number of players (not just Midguard granted) are using exploits to kill in RvR and level faster PvE. To deny or defend this is unforgiveable and that is what annoyed me most. While my above posts were harsh (for which I apologise to the innocent) the sentiment remains that too many people are cheating in this game. You request proof but guys you yourselves know how hard it is to obtain that proof, a picture or the chat.log does not always tell the full story. Only a full video capture would show players who can not possible have the range to kill you firing at you. It would show a player running straight to your location behind a tree in the middle of nowhere, when there is absolutly no chance on earth they could locate you without a map hack. That sadly is a feature we don't have but it doesn't mean exploits are not being used.

That is what bothers me, not the fact that many of you worked hard to get to level 50 and have 100's of legitimate kills (including many on me for which I shall have revenge one day ) but that exploiting is being condoned as a way to help your realm dominate RvR.

The bow with a huge range on it is bullshit and all the Middies posting here to defend it know that. But...

Having said that most of the people doing the whining are being equally stupid about it. Complain to GOA - they are the ones who should be sorting it out. If there is no comeback in game for using an item that still freely drops then you can't blame people for damn well using it.

In RvR I will be doing everything I can to kill the enemy. That includes using PBAE through doors if it works, forcing exp kills on people so it takes them that much longer to get back, ganking greys because I can, killing the freshly ressed so I don't have to fight them again. I expect my opponents to be doing the same I and therefore don't complain when they do. If they want to abide by their own moral rules then fine, but I now have an advantage over them because I am willing to go further. That is the nature of warfare (I see some of you quoting Sun Tzu so you should know what I am talking about).

Sure the bow is annoying but so are people commenting on issues they have no idea about and probably won't experience for months and months yet. It will be patched out eventually but until that date stop going on about it (especially since it hits for bugger all damage anyway) and concentrate on doing something constructive like levelling to a point where you can get revenge perhaps?

Thanks Chodax but sorry i was way past 40 when this bow was first seen (ie the last patch)

Gray con bows do not alot of damage to Orange con mobs post 40 and i defy anyone to level up with a low hitting bow against orange con mobs post 40.
Perhaps it works for you at your level but not for me thanks all the same for being concerned.

Note on Thane PB AoE

Low damage, and yes I used them in the raid to retake Bledmeer on Sunday. Why? Because the doors have a 1 foot gap at the bottom and my Thane PB AoE is a Thunder sBellow, and emerges from the ground, non targeted just does an AE damage, so in the context of the game and keep doors, its NOT a BUG or an Ecploit, to me it seems perfectly reasonable.

ATM I dont give a monkeys about u guys Using you AE Spells on the doors as it should have been fixed, in fact, I cannot cast any spells if I target keep doors, so I dont see why you guys should be able to.

Bugged bow?, god I hope it gets fixed asap, although asap means soon as GOA patch whihc aint for a long while yet, dont blame MIDGARD as a realm for this, I am not a hunter, none of the hunters in my guild use this bow and so I am not and will not be held responsible for it.

Flaming?, jesus guys GOA closed the official forums poartly because of this and now its migrated over to Barrysworld. Can we try be a bit more civilised?

If you post for a total of an hour a day, you will have an amazing amount of posts in a week. You should try it sometime. Plus this sudden urge to post has slowed down now as I have also settled into these forums, so maybe half an hour a day.
Inability to level? On the contrary I am not bad at leveling at all, just that I don't take part in the act of leveling that much because getting to 50 isn't the main goal of this game tbh. I like to have fun aswell (yes you can have fun in RvR at my level) and I do like to go outside my house aswell.
You really are being a btich aren't you? If I would like to do so, I could level to 50 at just as good a pace as many others in the game, the simple fact is that I just don't because I don't see the point in this major power-levelling, I just go with the flow you could say. Occasionally if the weather is bad, I might just sit in front of my screen for long periods of time and get some serious levelling going.
What the fuck is up with this igloo shit anyway, may I ask? Something to do with Finland? Well if it is, let me just laugh and say that your "islands" don't have much of a weather to be able to brag about. I for one do realise there is world out there, that is after all why I take part in aggressive skating (in case yo don't know, it's like grinds etc.), mountain biking, snowboarding and all the rest of it.
