Well i've been out before and a group of chavs shouted abuse at me, i completely ignored them and kept walking, they surrounded and me and proceeded to kick seven shades of shit out of me. And i know how to handle myself in a fight, i've always been to rough state schools, and im a fairly big lad (6'4), however after that i wouldn't even take the risk of reacting to a group of strangers, or 'standing up for myself' as you put it over some warped sense of pride.
