Mic Problems

Using Ventrillo and Teamspeak alot recently and im gettin alot of feedback while talking.People say its like a helicopter flying right above my head. But they can still make out what I say Bought a new mike and still its the same. Played will all settings and gets no better. Anyone had this problem before or know how to solve it? Is it sound card problems or do i need to download drivers or something. im quite noob with these things

Got the same problem when i use mic, dunno how to fix it.

well, you can try following:
1. turn off mic output to speakers (have only mic input enabled) so you won't get feedback effect, helps with older cards that were not able to filter this effect on their own.
2. try turning on/off record/play mic boost
3. try switching input socket from mic in to line in, if your mic is very sensitive, this could reduce the effect abit
4. mic should be in distance of 5cm from your mouth, try to keep this distance
5. get Audigy soundcard

Hmm, dunno, every sound card has those settings situated in different part of their config software. What soundcard do u use?

If your team mates are healing a helicopter type sound, it might be caused by radio interference on your microphone. If you have a fan in the room (or on the same power-group in your house), try turning that off, or move further away from any speakers you have.
