A while ago I was using a mic i had brought with Ventrillo while playing some online games, it all worked fine.
However now, theres something wrong, the mic dosnt work in anything, not even windows sound recorder!
Ive taken the mic out of my PC(Win XP) and tried it in my dads win 98 PC and it works fine.
If it helps, this is the mic: http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat640035/cat1430032/prod440014;jsessionid=4G2CXJSN44E1YCQBGNTCFEYKAEZWKIV0
Ive tried what I hope are all the obvious stuff, like making sure mic isn't muted and turning the volume up. As far as i can remember, i haven't changed anything major between last using the mic, and now.
Someone suggested I update the sound drivers, but i wasnt sure which ones to use, the soundcard I think is onboard the Asus A7v8x Mobo, but it uses a Via Vinyl chip or something, and both the asus and the Via site have drivers! I downloaded both, and tried to update them, but windows said I had the best ones installed.
It may be im clicking the wrong thing in device manager as when I click on
Sound, video and game controllers I get a list of these:
Sound, video and game controllers
-Audio Codecs
-Legacy Audio Drivers
-Legacy Video Capture Devices
-Media Control Devices
-Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device
-Video Codecs
-Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo Driver (WDM)
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Tilda
