Metro 2033

Recently tried this new game called Metro 2033. You have to try it.

Has all elements needed to make a FPS of the year. Kind of a mix of FEAR, Thief and STALKER. Survival horror rpg in a post nuclear apocalyptic setting with all kinds of nasty foes.

Great graphics, combined with compelling story and as much free roaming you could ask of an FPS. Incredibly detailed environment and physics.

It suits many playstyles, but stealthy gameplay is awarded, and so is exploring if you take your time. The beginning you have someone holding your hand until you learn the basics, but after a while youre on your own.

It has been made mainly for PC, but there is an XBox 360 version which i haven't tried. You will notice this game is NOT a shitty Xbox port.

Damn nice quality game, you will not be disappointed.

Also, there are sexeh women in it xD And nazis.

its boring its on rails .. nothing new .. its by a guy who was behind stalker but it really doesnt do it for me and too linear to be anything other than a standard shooter with mutants hehe

Played to chapter 3 i think wont play any further

ON RAILS? You must have lost all imagination from playing all the sh*t games. It's not supposed to be f*cking Oblivion where you can run around without any direction. But the hell it's NOT linear. Some places are linear, but many areas branches out so you can take the path that fits you best to reach a certain goal.

its been linear up to the end of the tube section is all i can say .. ofc i havent played 10 hours in it tho

As i said before. The beginning is linear, so you get used to it. But all of the sudden they let you loose on your own, which is really rewarding. There is also a compass you can bring up if you have a hard time finding the way forward.

Bought a 5850 the other day (haven't installed it yet) and this comes out! Apparently it's a real bastard to run at max?? Even on the latest ati/nvidea cards.

Oh yeah. Im running at High (One step from Very High) with Dx10 with 1920 x 1080 and max AF. Using a Dual Core e6600 slightly clocked and Radeon 4890. Its pretty good fps overall, but some areas can slow it down a bit.
