download/ozzy fest/monster of rock veteran
wicken
and a few smaller ones
i get to see all the bands i want doing 3 or 4 festivals a year

metallica's stage show as top this year at down load with eddie in the tank and 18 foot tall eddie walking about on the stage

theres some pic of the metallica download set on my myspace
but tbh i dont think there been a band mentioned in this theard(bar aqua) that i havent heard at least one track from and thought mmm thats not to bad and left it playing

The idea that a band should be pigeonholed into producing music that sounds like X for 20 years and doing anything other than that is selling out or abandoning their fans is just crap imo.

I think both Status Quo and Aerosmith might disagree with you on that!!!

you just got to laugh when Greenday call themselves punk.

Personally i always viewed them as natural successors to the Ramones, especially the first EPs and couple of albums.

But then again, what is punk, really, it's something not even 'hardcore' punks can agree on.

I like Metallica's old stuff, its pretty much where i started in metal....MoP,RTL,AJFA...and the black album along with pantera and slayer.dont like the direction metallica went but still have respect for them.
still love pantera...all of it as dime was a hero to many, including me and slayer are gods in their own right (south of heaven+reign in blood owns your ass!) as its been pointed out its a bit of a cliche but their older stuff (pre black album) is far far better imo. never was a fan of megadeth...some stuff i like but generally i really dont like them.
EDIT:as far as thrash goes Kreator,Sodom,Destruction, old school Sepultura and Slayer are my faves :)

So you made the guy from HIM cry?, that was mean. :ninja:

I missed machine head. The hotel bods had set up a bar outside my hotel (the one to your right as you left the tube station) So i sat outside drinking and smoking till about 6:00 I had assumed MH would have replaced BFMV's slot, but it seems thay had shuffled everyone up in the lineup order?

Hmm.. A friend of mine was drinking at that bar actually. Will see if it was the same one when they get online.

Order was: Mastadon, Machine Head, H.I.M, Metallica. - Yeah, making H.I.M cry was funny as hell. (Granted, I wasn't the one telling them to fuck off and die)

Mastadon sucked :( Could only hear the drumming, nothing else. I LOVED the end of The Memory Remains tbh, whole crowd chanting the end of it for like 5 min after it finished.

The best recording of it I have seen so far

If you find better lemme know. :D

Nice to see a band stop and watch the crowd for a while huh, sandman went down well too, I would say more people sang for that than memory but it didn't Quite have that wowing factor cos no one sang after the song ended.

Best recording I've actually seen aswell, too bad the camera didn't pick the whole crowd up properly though. Would of sounded awesone if it was done properly. Am SO buying the DvD when it comes out too.
