Messenger Popups

This has been covered a long, long time ago and I can no longer find the link.

A friend of mine has these annoying add popus that come at random and crash him to desktop.

Does anyone out there remember how to get rid of them ?

On XP..

Start >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services

Find "Messenger" from the list and double lcick on it, From the Startup Type drop down list select "Disabled".

Then click stop to stop it for the mean time. Then click apply and ok.

All done

MSN and the messenger service are 2 totally seperate things
