mercs r gimps????

why is it that most people think of mercs as gimps, yet armsmen r considered great?? show me an armsman who can solo a greater telamon and still have over 1/4 health left to spare, show me an armsman who can parry MOUTH 5 times in a row and MORDRED 3 times, show me an armsman who can last longer 1 on 1 vs an epic than me. the fact of the matter is mercs r the best and most damaging tanks u can get and im living proof of it. god damn i cant wait 4 the pvp server to show all u none believers

back at ya i have seen you out dam every one and soloed a worm at trees can u do a tree ? i took it down to 50% then died on my X pally

tryed to solo a worm i did it with buffs but no chance on my own

When I turned 43 I soloed a orange con lesser telamon (right after turning 43, so without giving out spec points) and I killed it with loosing only 1/5 health. Have to admit that I used my dirty trick on him, but still that felt great

Arcanium Jambiyas are slashers, can't be made until next patch, now they have 1.49 stable it should be soon. If we jump to 1.50 which is unlikely now 94% is minimum quality. If you're a thruster you want Guarded Rapiers.

Respec will arrive in 1.52 and will respec all your spec lines with the full respec which you gain automatically with an existing character, otherwise you get a single specline respec at level 20 or 40.

Guarded rapiers are no off-hand thrusters. They are only usable in right hand. There is no left hand thruster better than 15.5 dps craftable. And I am the one who hates this the most!

Crush sorta pointless respec'in to that when they are basically weaking it so it in line with others ,,, keep my slash merc above anything any day i should think as simply there nothing better.

i do not under rate crush. i know how leathel it can be... but that is now.. 1.52d patch will change that when it levels it out to the same sorta thing as slash/thrust ... so if you going for gicing birth to new life now sure crush is a good option, thou this may not be true when patched... thou with this lot it be a long time before we get the patch so not mater yet

I think Bubble's point is this - Paladins are far and away the best tanks. Tanks aren't damage dealers, they are meatshields. I would rather have a good pala tanking on an epic mob than a good merc. The merc would be useful for hitting it, but they aren't as good at tanking (nor are armsmen).

i would like to make a wager on this, ill bet u i can last longer on an epic than a pally this is a dead cert

I bet the epic would just slaughter all your clerics if you tried to tank it. Even paladins can struggle to hold aggro vs mordred, so a merc has no chance.

oh and i take alot more damage than a pally, due to my lvl 61 parry

every1 knows pallys cant b beat 4 holding aggro, due to the chants aspects, but 4 taking hits a merc like mine cant b beat lvl 61 parry goes along way and so does the dirt throw =)

Tanking isn't about being able to take damage, it's about being able to hold aggro. No use having 61 parry if Mordred just aggros your clerics and slaughters them all. Bear in mind Mordred is the parry master and you have to stand in front of him to tank him. Also it's relatively easy to get one shotted by him, even as a paladin, so a merc would be even more likely to die.

Yes matt, they are, but tanks they are not. They are melee damage dealers, which is very useful for quite a lot of mobs (like the dragon for instance )
