Merc advice

Well since i am crush still,it does good still in my opinion but on some chain wearers i.e mids i get a slight - damage so i was thinking of respeccing to slash.Is slash good in rvr?

If so was thinking of these 2 specs:

50 slash 50 dw 28 parry
44 slash 50 dw 37 parry

Would the 50 slash make a lot of difference in damage too compared to the 44 slash?

Please help.

oi, that second one's my spec

you'll gain 60 weaponskill or so... which is about a 6% damage increase from 44 to 50

in exchange for 6% better parry...

go 50 thrust for dragon fang and 50 DW for the last DW style

Nah i would evade more once i increase my quickness a bit and get dodger but since i am highlander its best only respeccing to slash if i do even though crush is still good just want to hear peoples views on slash.

slash is good in this patch
you can deal alot of fast damage
chain resist has also gone down by 10% too

alot of 50 mercs i know use amythest and diamond slash as there main styles

I guess its a bit like that scissors, paper, stone game. There isn't really a best - just depends who you run into at the time as to whether you have the best weapon type.

Slash is neutral to Eldrich, Enchanters, Mentals, Runies & SMs according to the seer... :S


edit: didnt read the bit about excluding casters... but why exlude casters?? theyre the first people i aim at... <shrugs>

Since all resists have gone down etc slash is good (but not as good as thrust)

thrust is only uber for evaders and polearmsman
the 1 handed thrust styles are pants for paladins and arms(wo)man

i would love to go thrust but i wont't give up my slam

slash isn't that bad anymore with the new armourtables and has the best 1 hand styles.

Riposte / beduffler combo is great after block. most 1 handers specced high shield

amathyst is high bonus to hit / use anytime and the best style against those pesky assasins

backslash is nice 'hit in back' style with decent damage and great speed

thrust styles which not chain off evade are bad

Thrust is great,but no 16.5 dps weapons available atm,so for the mean time slash is the best IMHO.

thrust is the best damage TYPE but it has crap styles, but as a merc you have the possiblity of evading which gives you the best style in the game. and if you are going to use dual shadows, thrust IS THE BEST. the other realms dont have high thrust resist but they have high slash resist.

+15% on chain is a nice bonus and neutrl on all hibbies. only penaltys are 2 rogue classes which will get a beating anyway and the zerker, (only class that is a threat)
