The only time you should use stun is in rvr. There is one exception tho, and that is when you are out of end and need to get away, thats the only time.

Stun is pure wasted power, soloing is ALL about power costs/exp received.

--> Sprint > stun <--

After about 75 levels of soloing as a mentalist this is the only thing i found out that is WRONG to do, and that is to stun.

Edit: AS for how to solo as a level 8 ment, do like this.

Dot, Dot, sprint. Now, watch the HP bar of the mob VERY closely, as when it hits 50%, he will turn and run away, so at 60%ish you /face and double dot again and keep running, rinse and repeat.

It worked for me at level 8, so should work for you.

If i still cannot kill yellow mobs with mana specc i will delete n reroll as light specc till level 20 or so

Think you misread me there, I was saying sprint is better than stun (if the mob is close). Not to sprint off and stun (which is pointless )
That said I use stun sometimes. It's quicker and easier to stun after a resist and recast than sprint off and recast.

u can go light which is easyer to solo and use single line respecs at 20 or 40 to mana if u want mana menta

id say go 'full' light (meaning keep it 1 below ur lvl to get first PoT) to lvl20.. then respec to mana.. then ae dot ur way to 30
bantam spectres - mites ...

ofcourse im sure someone will say going mana from the start is just as easy but i well.. the mentalism baseline dot kinda sux without any spec in it
