Looking back though, me old q2 clan did have possibly the BEST clan web page ever!

Tis a shame that the ol thing has gone now (well i can't find the bugger no more). Spoof did an AMAZING piece of work with that - flash at its best. It even put the professionals to shame - last i heard he was working as a web designer.

The links under my webby thing - youll have to paste it out, but its not there on the main site no more ;o(

Anyway, I seem to be the only sod from my qw/q2 days that i see anymore ;o(

N3D's webby was the most l33terest webbeh I ever saw... ahhh

The N3D site was cinematically very impressive. It came at a time when people were just starting to realise the animation qualities and abilities of Flash. What made it good was that it was clearly made by someone with an understanding of film and media - the transitions were excellent, the music fitting and the scenes well 'directed'. That's what the authors of so many appalling Flash sites out there don't seem to realise - if you don't understand the old media you won't suddenly become adept at using the new.

I think what tripped Jules up was the perennial problem faced by Flash developers - ie updates. Now it's fairly easy to link Flash into a SQL database, but back then it couldn't be done. So if anyone ever wanted to update the site, they'd have to do it in the original flash, and it was considerably more work than typing the words in. Hence, it didn't get done, and the site stagnated.

yeah i've been here quite a while (and I'm only 19 now) so i've seen quite a lot online.

I used to love the ol QW days on Globalnet's servers - every sunday night used to be the time to meet and it was all the some ol bunch every week (more so LSD and NKO - big time rivals at the time)

heh, being quite young then (before i did my GCSE's) i remember [NKO]Jesus telling me his ISDN ping was a "mistake in the game" and believing him

Kinda went off QW when clan shit got silly - nearly all my team m8's were in about 4 other clans so i just said fuck it and went

kinda disappeared till q2 which i loved, and to this day i still think it IS a LOT better than q3..... I just can't settle with Q3, although i feel this is due to me being clanless, and the slower pace of previous games (and CS now)

Anyway any of me old clan peeps still about?
I rarely see anybody anymore, occasionallly Iceburn or Rathga but other than that no one ;o(

Which leads me to my next post.............

Yep the good old days on globalnet. There quake 2 team server on friday nights, major hook up, allways a 6v6 going down Big up to the old boys from the globalnet Q2 days, CS just don't have what we had back then

And Dave? Well he was always Dave (the clan pimp - more clans had him in their team than i've had hot dinners)

I think Ice and Edis are at uni (well edis is) and i think deeley went to manchester uni. Hmmmm Cat deeley (drooool)

anyway...

N3D is still going though, although funnily enough it hasn't got any of the original members in it at all. It's led by m!g, but i don't even remember him that well(i think they joined the sinking ship long after i bailed out )

I used to be CoG Guardian. And {AbFab}/[QC]Pookie Bear/PB.

I remember HooDs (Nimmy, Z and Ck(Pete Sampras ) spring to mind first...oh yeah...Rip, Ads and B-Boy too ), ACE (Ventura is the only one I can remember) and the site you mentioned..it was the one with spaceships wizzing about, yeah? I remember the public clan server on (insert enemy gaming hosts here)..it was great...*sigh*

I left Quake 2 about 15 months back and played Everquest all that time But now I'm back checking out Quake 3 and, well, I'm also having a bit of a bitch getting used to it. But I'm patient.
