How many HP's per point of con do scouts get.

It seems strange to aim for 100/100 con when your not even capping your hits cap.

template wasn't put up to discuss, it's already finished for many weeks, but people were interested to see it - thats why i put it here :)

People who would love to have a tank that can stealth and spec shield :( people using archers for other reasons is sucky sucky... play them how they should be played... sitting in a tower with a di bot

Template is nice I suppose . Having never made a template since I started playing daoc Im not the best to advise but I know what I like in a template and it seems to me like you have fitted in a few too many toys rather than capping certain stats.

you got ure winged helm and your ring of dances etc but personally I would have opted for more hits stre dex etc . But if im wrong feel free to educate me ..still .. not capped in any of your primary stats would bother me but if you have a specific play style and heavy ml ra charge dump that will account for not capping them then I spose its ok .

i appreciate people trying to give advise, but, i already said this was posted purely for interest of other people who need inspiration for their own templates.

this one is far from perfect but it did the job fine, watch my video for proof! :p maybe at rr5 (if i can ever get it) i might try to optimise it.

Part of using it for inspiration in their own templates is working out what can be improved tho, hense the discussion about why you chose X over Y.

I would imagine this is less about "helping others make melee scout templates" and more about "FFS STOP PMING ME FOR MY FREAKING TEMPLATE YOU SHOWER OF BASTARDS!!!!" :)

Very similar to the one I made this afternoon, but mine has less con and better resists...and no you CAN'T see it!!!!

Nice template tho i guess :) i love weaponless templates lets you have so much fun swapping between anything you feel like shame there wasn't a bigger variety of items in daoc tho to make them easier to make maintaining good stats :( give more op stat items!

don't understand that temp at all. overcapping con in a rogue temp when 95% ppl u fight got con debuffs and/or malice, then failing to cap +hits which can't be debuffed (and offers more hp) with crap resists & crap overcaps on dmg and defence, v strange :eek7:

Just for your own reference, your stats on WH need updating, it has another 5% spirit aswell as the stats you have on it.

i think some people still don't get the hint. originally i made this template not to include WH so i would have 100 con and the full 328 hits, but then I realised how good the helm was - a swing or two would absorb way more then just the 80 hits i would have to drop from the template to fit it in.

next to that, scouts at CL5 get 3.96 hp per con point which means the 25 con I have on my boots (for 17 imbue points) will give me 99 more hp - if I would change the gem to hits instead I could only go up to 76 for 19 imbue points. or, I could spread out the hits gems over two armor parts losing a slot that i very much need for other stats, wasting 24 imbue points on the same amount of hits.

and as for con debuffs, it matters absolutely fuck all if you have 300 or 275 con, the debuff will debuff exactely the same, it is not % based.

and maliceproc, yes, this will debuff more HP off a 100 con template then a 75 con one. malice debuffs 25% to all stats, meaning that if im buffed with 325 con, malice will debuff my hp for ~325 hp. if i would have a regular 75 con template, it would debuff my hp for a stunning 300 hp. hey look, if i would have invested the same imbue points into hits rather then con i would have the exact amount of hits after a malice debuff, IF, i havn't taken 300 damage in other forms already (which will be the case 9 out of 10 situations)

keep in mind this is a weaponless template, I will use my champ weapon as often as I can use it which raises my str and dex to 91/92. lacking those last 10 str and dex will result in a 1-2% dmg decrease. excuse me for not caring that much.

the resists aren't the best, but how I wanted them to be. including champ resistbuffs, and champ weapon melee resist or CL5 buff + pd3 i'm not sure if my resists have ever caused me a loss.

this template has served me extremely well and the choices I made have been deliberate - and has been posted purely for inspiration of other people. if i were to remake my template, ofcourse i would like to have more str/dex, 26% to all resists, 50 af and 400 hits.

fact is sacrafices need to be made in templates, I sacraficed resists in some areas where they cause absolutely no danger to me at all and invested it into more toys, more hp (2150ish buffed without aug con or toughness) and +11 to shield spec, and the ability to swap out for any weapon i want (i have all 4 legendaries, + champ weapon, + traitors dagger)

if you feel you can improve this template in any way, be my guest to give it a try, i know i tried for a very long time to improve it but failed. either way, fights where my template has caused me a loss have been extremely rare and far between - factors I have no influence on matter much more (hi 50% evade, poisons and lack of RR to buy purge3, etc).

hope that clears it up some, time to enjoy the weather and celebrate my birthday now :D

edit2- and konah, i don't fight assassins that much. i usually try to find those high rr strafing pd5 rangers people cry about because they are really fun to fight (for real), and next to that i usually have a crack at tanks - fuck assassins until i get p3!

would but my scout is right at the bottom of my list of toons needing new sc :p maybe have a go tomorrow if i get bored enough. and my point with the con overcap thing was that con is affected by assasin poisons/caster debuffs and malice, +hits aint.

and eeben, your scalars are missing +40 hits in case it helps anything. the dexcap is nice but hits are still terribly low :( have searched a bit but couldnt find any proper templates yet.. >.<

being forced to use a legendary is crap, the toa bonuses and caps on champ weapon make a massive difference - aswell as traitors dagger which is a must vs wardens and a lot of tanks

26con cap @ 3.96hp per con, as u claim, is +103hp, after malice that'll be ~75hp, after a con debuff itll be about ~50hp proportionally.

400hits, after malice = 400hits, after a con debuff = 400hits.

nice logic there :rolleyes:

in my template the concap came along with the items i used, and it was more efficient for me to add +con then +hp. its a fact con adds more hp for less imbue points, it has nothing to do with 400 hits vs 26 con, since the two are completely different.

you're claiming caster/assassin con debuffs are worse for templates with high con then for those with high hits, which is just bullshit. malice does hurt such a template more, by a shocking 25 hp and ONLY if you havn't been hit by anything else before the proc goes off, since it debuffs your max hp and not actual hp.

i already agreed with you on this point but guess i have to repeat myself. as i said, if you want to contribute in any way to helping scouts put together a good template then try a combinations of items yourself instead of trying to shoot holes in one that will never be changed since its been in use for months already. :p

It's far from optimal as you already said. The things which bother me the most as archer-class in your template:

* Horrible matter-resists. This is a big thing, because the people you will have troubles with will switch to a matter leggie once they realize your scout is (extremely) weak to it. Giving away free 15% damage to an easy obtainable damage-type is a bad tactic.

* Your CON-overcap. Yes, it is on your items, but Darkspire CON-bracers aint exactly the best choice to begin with as rogue-class. Neither is Moirai's ring. To compare --> You gain about 5% more HP from those overcaps (but you give away 15% on matter-resists). Or as Tuvok would say: Logic dictates thats a bad choice :p (ofcourse assuming your enemy is smart and uses matter-weapons)

* You say your 2-3% melee-damage due to lower stats aint buggering you (which I can only agree with btw!) yet you do use Scalars, which is only good for the 3% melee-damage. Weird logic again :p Nice proc, but how often does it proc really ? You could get better stats with crafted gloves I would argue ;)

I do like the +11 shield, thats really a good idea IMO, especially considering you're 50 shield-spec. Add some MoBlock and you will block loads obviously. Perhaps its an idea to replace some CON-items for DEX-items to get higher DEX, which helps both your offense and your defense (for blocking).

Then again, template is already used, but for a new template there would be loads of room to improve it :)
