Anyone find that Tribes2 in a proper scrim evironment played a lot like Tribes1? :)

I noticed this on the second map when it felt very much like CC (canyon crusade). The cappers doing scout ski runs etc added a large deal of speed to the game and I even had to disc jump to catch up. Heh

Fun :)

Yeh Tribes 2 defo feels like Tribes 1 but better :). Siege was kinda fun too, bit like D&D but with C&H elements to it. Seems very hard to capture tho :/

The problem with siege is that while its a fun gametype, some of the maps are near impossible to capture unless the defence make simple mistakes, and the rest are impossible to defend.

Any map which has little or no shields between the entrance and the button/target can be captured in around 1 minutes, by the (not exactly taxing) tactic of buying a sensor jammer, running into the enemy base, switching on your jammer, and running into the target room.

Game over, while everyone wonders why the 15 motion sensors and 5 turrets didnt do anything...

Of course this might change as people think of new ways of defending and attacking, but right now if youre on a server and know the way to the target, theres no point in playing :(

Played in my first proper clan scrim last night 14v14

We played the Alactraz siege map, this map has one entrance unless you take out the gens (which are next to the button so unlikely)

The huge flaw with this map is you can re-spawn inside the base, which means u can die at the entrance re-spawn deep inside the base and go heavy again, meaning that the enemy will have to kill you and your team 2-3 times before they get to the button.

I don’t think siege works that well in clan games because an organised spam defence makes it just like playing iceridge.

CTF was great fun, c&h is just the same as it was in t1.

My FPS dropped to below 1 on the first seige map :)

All those damn trees.

Anyway, everyone thought tribes2 was a lot slower paced than Tribes1 but that match was pretty fast.

*note to self* Don't forget to clear your own mines off your flag before capping (doh)
