Just watched it, not really impressed. Pretty much a kids film that diverts a bit too far from the source material, especially for Dr Doom.

Dr Doom having a fist fight with The Thing? WTF?? Plus why did Dr Doom have Electro's powers?

Of course they use the 'don't do this certain thing, which will actually save the day at the end of the movie', like ghostbusters.

Saw this over the weekend, took all four kids as this is rated PG.

Having felt uneasy over taking 8 year olds to see recent film content rated 12 and 12A, I was now a little unsure about a PG for the 5 year old, but as an old time fan of the FF comics I went for it any way.

Hugely enjoyable, lots of action and story, not overly scary, short, perfect for the kids, in other words this _is_ a PG.

There were a couple of dodgy "is this really PG" moments, but nothing like previous films; e.g. decapitation in a 12A (LotR) or multiple limb hacking in a 12 (Episode III).

Doom was obviously very different from the comics, I seem to recall he wore the mask due to a facial disfigurement and he had powered body armour rather than being affected by the same cosmic rays that changed the other four. His power came from technology rather than being innate

This happens in the comics, Doom fights The Thing with fists rather than blast him away because he has a massive ego and wants to beat him through strength, part of his defeat of the FF is humiliation.

There are several versions of Marvel continuity; the one in the film is a bit (but not much), like Ultimate Fantastic Four inasmuch as he's affected by the same effect as the others.
