I am up for a multiplayer game, but for some reason every multiplayergame is a lagparty. I can easily play with good graphics on singleplayer and my connection is very decent, just seems badly coded.

Regarding patch, can't say I've noticed too much, but computer seems a bit smarter in battles. Didn't just stand there and look at me after deployment when he was defending side, but moved units around some and even attacked, was a typical computer attack though with all units "storm the front". The one thing I did notice is that units pathing in sieges seem to be have improved alot.

Stuff that still annoys me is:

- Computer placing diplomats around the map that just stand there and engages diplomacy without anything happens.

- Computers having no problems with breaking whatever alliance for the most stupid reasons (lets blockade a port so our big neighbour can destroy us)

- Units, especially cavalry suddently splitting up to all sides, think this is a bug.

Probably much more, that I can't think off. Again it strikes me that when you change campaign difficulty you get a totally different scenario.

I downloaed the patch yesterday and i only play medieval 2 on my laptop witch is not the best laptop designed for playing games like medieval 2 but i feel the patch has made it less laggy. And indeed the computer seems smarter ( they still shoots up every single catapult bullet to make 31144124 holes in the wall before attack). I still hope and think future patches will make the game better.

wasnt that fun imo , got boring quiet fast. i played as england on normal i think and everyone started wars with me all the time. but if i attacked i got the excommunicate mission thingy. nobody hold an alliance, everyone attacked me. even countrys i barely had spoken with started seigeing my towns when i got close to them.

Really disapointed at mtw2. It's way way too easy, the patch seems to have helped a bit but AI armies are still extremely poorly designed and like you say whats the point in alliances when they don`t help you in times of war and attack you regardless whenever they feel like it. :(

~apparently~ the best bet for AI is avoiding ones you have a touching border with. so as english, avoid france cos of Caen, etc - only land not sea. they dislike all their immediate neighbours more.

if you are having lots of trouble with someone, marry into them early.
and if you want someone to vassal to you, you need about 5x as many troops as they have AND have a touching border to ALL their land , which should guarantee an accept

you will also get a decrease in your rep for the more land you take, so even if you are fair with everyone, you still get hated once you have half of europe :(

it is (technically) possible to never fight anyone, ever. get allied, make friends, give them money gifts to keep em happy.

get assasins. train them on diplomats/princess - getting guilds helps - then murder entire families, so they turn into rebels, then bribe the settlements :drink:

This has been the same in every total war, especially in rome total war alliances and ceasefires were completely pointless, eventually i just declined every diplomacy attempt without even looking who was asking for what...

just update for people who were complaining about it -
mod that improves the AI a hell of a lot.

clickage

be warned , it requires a total UNPACK with the mod tools to install = ~7gig
