Media video not playing

hi. so i have a problem. i recored fraps material ingame, i even download some of the movies other ppl post and for whatever reason when i try to run them my pc lags. its lags to the extent that my cpu usage jumps to 100% and eventually i just have to reset my pc. anyone else had issuses like this? i also download vlc player and it run the video, i hear whats going on ingame but i just get a grey screen where the video should be playing. any ideas?

sounds like a probelm with your codecs .. try downloading and installing the Combined Community Codec Pack which can be found here
