medal of valoUr anyone?

Is it just me or has everyone become LESS interested in taking the ck's in bg's now that there are more good reasons to do so ie. free levels.

I just dont get it, I expected huge keep taking zergs waiting around outside until the 45 minute banner goes up then charging in, taking it, maybe capping rp defending it from the next lot and then moseying off to get their medals.

eg, last night 4 hibs in thid, 3 stealthers and me. Most nights for last couple of weeks, 1 hib in cale (me) maybe 3-4 if lucky. I have a stealther in range for murd but I may well die of shock if I went and actually found even ONE enemy (or one ally for that matter), let alone enough to take the keep.

And 2 words to describe it:

RP WHORES

Yes, these are the people that don't care about the CK or any of the values it can give you, but only care about killing other enemies.

It's the same in Emain, Hadrians, and Odins.

People don't care about keeps, they're just greedy for RPs.

And because bashing on a door doesn't give them RPs (though it would if there were defenders, as there most usually is) they're completely and utterly uninterested.

I've seen keep raids before where 3 mids were spotted running near the keep.

All 3fg+ ran after them, leaving just a few on the door to die to guards.

Greedy RP mongers are the reason a lot of us can't have some fun

Yup I cared. I really really REALLY wanted to get a medal of valour, but I also wanted to go level some with my NS too much and so when it became apparent that the current batch of Thid goers couldn't/wouldn't follow leadership and were more interested in, as you say, killing enemy I decided to go...

these medals - could someone fill me in on how to get them?

seeing as we (hibs) took the Caledonia-keep last night, someone mentioned this, and when i scrolled up it said "You have completed the Capture of caledonia quest" or some such - but i didnt get any medal?

do i need to do something else to get this?

and also how much exp does it give?

I think it was something to do with some NPC somewher eor something...

You have to participate in a keep raid and hold it for 45 minutes and cap your RP to be eligible for a Medal of Valor.

In Albion you talk to Commander Krise (i think thats his name) who stands on the porch of his house near The Mug in Camelot City, you then go to the Royal Library and hand it in to a new NPC there, but I can't remember the name. The reward is 40 million XP, which is virtually a whole level at 24

ROFL I don't know how you can call the people in the BG RP whores...just they are not there for the exp...or the RP...they are there for the fun which is killing the enemy. And most of them are alts so

LOL,the whole reason i made my SB Drazar was fo the fun of killing.If theres a keep take goin on ill help but wheres the enjoyment in lasting 1day in a bg,i made that mistake with my NS in hib and regret it badly,ive had about 30 mins bg fun with him b4 he was capped.I aint no RP whore,just like playing the game ive payed 4

Whats the Medal of Valor called in hib? Coz the only Medal of Valor i know of is lvl 50 and drops from fins

Why the crap would you ever want to group with a stealther class?

The medal (i think) gives you the exact ammount of xp it would take to go from 19.0 to 20.0 in bg0, 24.0 to 25.0 in bg1 etc. So if you get the medal and cap at lvl15, you will get to 16.8ish from it.

Minor correction - you don't have to hold the keep for 45 minutes - it's the other way round - you only qualify for a medal if the keep has been held for 45 minutes.

I suppose this is to stop the third realm running in behind the attacking realm and killing their newly spawned keep lord without having to go through all the trouble of knocking down the doors, but I don't think that happens very often anyway.
