Reminder that today is the day that registration costs for .me.uk domain names will have decreased to their lowest level, so you should consider getting out there and start registering.

The .me.uk TLD was introduced in January this year but priced at £50/year per domain name to discourage cybersquatting, the price was gradually decreased each month and today marks the first day at which the "normal" price applies.

You should not expect to pay more than around £3 + VAT per year (minimum of 2 years) for a .me.uk from today.

But, don't be a prat and try to cybersquat :)

P.S. I personally use UK Reg for uk domains, they are fine for domain name stuff having free 50 name e-mail forwarding, but I'd steer clear of their "Fasthosts" web hosting services :)

"As Lady Bracknell might have put it, to have registered one domain name corresponding to the brand name of a major mobile telecommunications company may be regarded as a misfortune; to register two looks like carelessness.
Oh do fuck off. :(

Whats your point? You sympathise with cybersquatters?

Cybersquatters are the lowest of the low, the vermin of the Internet, people who cannot be fucked to earn an honest days pay and would rather trade off the success of other entities. Cybersquatters and carpetbaggers should be subject to the same anti-fraud legislation that comes into play when someone tries bribing supermarkets, etc.

If it were up to me, and it was obvious (as in TheReg case) they were out to defraud companies, they'd be looking at some serious jail time.

(It is obvious I work for an ISP?)

Heh heh. No. I just hate The Importance of Being Ernest which is where that mutilated quote comes from. :)
