Raises a good point if its a illness they can be sectioned and held under the mental health act and not let out untill they are no longer a public danger. Maybe this is better than it being a crime can keep them off the street longer that way.

Yuk. Makes me feel bad just thinking about the fact that there is no fool proof way to stop it.

Like i said, only foolproof is killing them.

And how about murderers, rapists, people who rob houses(and cause similar mental trauma to people due to shock), people who get traumatized by muggings?

Or are you reay to let the law decide the suitable punishment and then let it go?

doesnt cause similar trauma as kids getting molested. in no way - rape might be the closest.
when a kid is 4-5 they dont know "right" from "wrong" but still many of them knows something is wrong when their uncle comes into their room after bed time and asks them to undress and its their little secret. a childs mind is alot more acceptable to impressions and a trauma like this cannot be understood by anyone who has not experienced it i believe.
When i see what rape can do to some women it scares the hell out of me to see what paedophilia can do to kids.
But in any case, a grown persons mind can more clearly seperate things, and murdering somebody hardly leaves a trauma on the killed person.
